It's funny how someone like Blair White can outperform Golden.

Just goes to show, success depends on the situation you are drafted into.

Golden has showed promising signs, don't give up on him now.

He was in the dog house to start the year. Carroll said he was not prepared for the NFL.

Funny how Carrol said he wasn't prepared for NFL. I thought Weis prepared these guys for NFL. I guess not. Need to let UF players know this.

Matt Hasselbeck/Football Jesus Charlie Whitehurst vs. Peyton Manning.

Yeah. I think White got a few better balls to catch.

Funny how Pete Carrol says people are not ready for the NFL now, I seem to recall Joe McKnight coming from his program at USC and having a difficult time in mini camp cause the workouts were too much for him. He was getting sick from all the conditioning. He may not have been ready, but just funny coming from Pete Carrol

Weis took a guy with no experience at WR and turned him into one of the most prolific receivers in college football, in just 3 years. Of course he wasn't ready for the NFL yet. He'd only been a WR for 3 years.

Great point, I think Tate would thrive in New England the same way Branch/Welker thrive as possession type receiver's. Also Tate really only played 2 years, as the freshman year was limited, hopefully seattle gives him an opportunuty to shine.

I 2nd that emotion. Blair White wasn't exactly a slouch, and he has arguably one of the best QB's in NFL history throwing him the ball.....

Golden has Hasselbeck, and Whitehurst, and don't even get into the offensive system the two teams run.

I have met Golden a few times and have actually talked to him. I will not stand for the sarcasm in the start of this thread. Golden was hurt for most of the season. Also if you look at the lineup for the Seahawks you will see the Wide Reciever corp is filled with veterans. Also like mentioned before he was injured not only with ankle problems but groin issues as well. Also stated before he was only a wide out for 3 years of his life. And the knock on Charlie, really? One minute you praise Tate, now you turn on him? I cant wait until Tate shows what he can do, then you can hop on the wagon again.

But im just sayin...

Tate is a great talent as we all seen and praised while he was at ND. This is the NFL though, their are 250 some draft picks, maybe 40 will make an impact their rookie year. It is not easy.

I would equate it to a football game, if ND went 3 and out on the first drive of a game, I wouldn't give up on them. (although some on here would) So just because he had a subpar rookie year doesn't mean he should have waited, maybe this actually opened his eyes and he breaks out next year. He is still making money to play in the pro's, if he is meant to be in the pro's it will happen. If not he will just fade away, but I think he will have a pretty decent career to say the least.

I have nothing but the best expectations for Golden in the NFL. A player of his caliber... making the impact he did... against the talent we played while he was here? He'll be just fine.

I mentioned Blair White as being more productive, because of Manning.

I'm suggesting Golden is in a poor situation.

Golden is much better than Blair.

I blame those damn maple bars! haha but seriously give golden a qb who has the capability to throw the ball and a coach who can call plays that make sense tate will be fine.

Carroll said the same thing about Sanchez. I doubt the Jets are complaining...

From the athlete's perspective, they should generally go if they're a top 10 pick or their stock isn't likely to rise much and they're a 1st rd/early 2nd rd pick. Golden went at the best time for him because this year has a ton of WRs entering the draft and was unlikely to have as productive as a year in a new system with a new QB.

In hindsight, JC should've stayed, but everything looked like he'd be a 1st rd pick, top 15 potential. He's now getting destroyed in Carolina with a poor receiving corp and a questionable OL because the owner sold a lot of the teams talent in the off-season.

And their best receiver was a bust this season.
GT will be fine, I think, in the mold of Walker, Collie, Stokley, etc.
Hasselbeck was injured most of the season. I think he is a good QB when healthy, perhaps in the top five (number five), but certainly in the top ten. I doubt if GT will ever be successful with Pete Carroll as he likes receivers who are big like Williams.
With Brady, Manning or Rivers he would be sensational.

The weird thing is that Pete Carrol drafted GT. I think he just needs some time to adjust and more reps and he will be a contributor.

The only Seattle games I had watched were the last two, and GT wasn't a part of the game plan. And that screen pass was a disaster.

Seattle just canned their OC, so perhaps well see more of what Golden is capable of next season.
