yeah I'd say tate is the fast one. 4.4 40. Kamara shows a 4.6 40. Armando shows a 4.31 forty (off subject but man he is fast)

Goshen, how DARE you deny that a freshman is anything other than ready to start, catch a hundred balls, and win the Heisman! After all, this kid got FOUR STARS from the recruiting services, and Grimes probably only got three - which shows, of course, that Tate's pretty much ready for the NFL, let alone the NCAA.

TennesseeIrish, it's not you whose balls I'm busting ... let me say again how much your insight is appreciated.

LOL.. I hear ya Johnnd05.. I am just ready to see what Golden can do ( I know what he is made of I watched him every day in practice and every game for 3 years) .. I am just soooo anxious to see him bust out.. Sorry, I get a little pumped up

Okay, so someone help me with this one. Weis had this exchange in his press conference today:

My question is: which is which? I guess I assumed that Golden was BOTH the faster one AND the better "athlete", and that Kamara's major advantage was his size. So which is it? Is Duval faster than the Golden Boy, or is he a better athlete?

JohnND05, I am going out on a limb here by saying this, but I would be VERY VERY surprised if Duval is faster than Golden

Me too. I'm also pretty surprised, though, to hear that he's a better athlete. Wasn't the Golden Boy a superstar baseball player as well?

Yes, he didn't play his Senior year (wrist Injury) so he ran Track. He was drafted in the 42nd round by the Diamondbacks. He probably would have been drafted higher, but he missed his Senior year. He also played Basketball his Junior year (and yes he can dunk:)... His Brother is a really good basketball player!!

Tate is definately faster, and I'd say the second fastest behind AA, did you guys see him run down the receiver from behind on that kickoff? Duvall is definately the Athlete, because if I recall, he has something like a 40 inch vertical.

Tennesseeirish, you think we'll have a shot at his brother?

It's really too early to tell , know what I mean? Wesley and Golden are pretty close. Wesley is going to be an animal. He is already 6'2 200 lbs and when he works out he looks pretty good. And he is fast as anything (2nd in the State in the 200M as a Sophomore)... It will be interesting to see where he ends up. Remember he is only a Junior so WE have him for another year before any college gets him:)

Would you happen to know which schools have been in regular contact with him?

I believe Vanderbilt has been. I believe he went to a game there a couple weeks ago. The recruiting process usually picks up late in their Junior year I believe. Any updates and I will let you guys know...

If Golden was 6'5 he would be IMPOSSIBLE to defend..Thats why I think Golden is the better athlete of the two.. Just my .02

I'm just glad to have both of them on the team! I'm a little more excited about golden just because I'm from tennessee and he has raw speed.

Usually once a year. But would like to go more often. I know a season ticket holder in South Bend so that's how I get my one game a year. You?

Sad to say I have never been to a game there. I am just really starting to follow the Irish since Golden went there...

Man if you ever get a chance to go, Do it. You should go back and look at the history and tradition of Notre Dame. That will give you a better appreciation for who they are. Or it does me anyway. When you have a feel for the tradition of Notre Dame the campus and ball games will be more meaningful. There is nothing like being there game weekend. Take note of the thread someone started about what to do game weekend at notre dame. You should try and do everything you can while your there. It will cost a little but i would try and get a tour of the stadium (I think they take you to the locker room. It's absolutely beautiful). Go to the pep rally the night before, just do all that you can while your there. Not to mention the campus is awsome! Golden Dome, Grotto, Sacred Heart Basillica, Hesburgh library (touchdown jesus), etc. One more thing, Golden Tate will be playing!!

So hey, how frigging good did Golden look yesterday, huh? If you're searching for a bright spot, then together with Laws, the Golden Boy is IT.

I was thinking the exact same thing. He looked phenomenal on kick returns and I'd be surprised if he didn't take one to the house at least once this year. I think he and Kamara might both be in the top four WR's after 'training camp' is over. Golden reminds me a lot of Steve Smith of the panthers.

I also was thinking the same thing. When the announcers were giving Hart player of the game for Michigan and wondering who to give it to on Notre Dame, the only one I could think of who deserved it at all was Golden. He was pretty much the only bright spot in the whole abysmal game. But now I thought of the game again, and I need to take another shower...

Yeah Tate will have a great career at N.D. He's the one player who looks like he loves to be out there and plays as hard as he can!
