We've moved to a dedicated server...

After two years, we turned two on September 24, 2006, we've finally grown to the point where we needed to move of a shared webserver. I'm not sure if you can tell it, but the site should be loading faster you as I have noticed an increased speed for myself.

Over the next couple weeks, I'll be tweaking the site trying to make it even faster and hopefully we'll be able to stay here for several years to come unless we experience even larger growth than we already have.

With the move to the dedicated server comes increased costs to maintain the site. The server that we're currently on costs us $125/month, which is nearly $75 more monthly than what we were charged on the shared server. Currently, our main income for the site is through the $10-a-year Varsity Club membership program, which we've averaged about 4-5 members per month over the course of the year.

While we strive to continue to bring IrishEnvy.com to the masses for FREE, we do ask that you help us out in any way possible by visiting our advertisers. For instance, for those of you that like to shop on eBay, if you visit through the links on our site, we generally earn 5-10 cents per auction won. I know it doesn't sound like much, but every bit helps and will allow for us to continue giving away cool Notre Dame swag and burning the midnight oil to bring you up-to-date Notre Dame information.

We'd like to take this time to open the floor and ask you, our customers, what we can do better. As some of you have seen, we've recently begun undertaking the Notre Dame Historical Statistics Project, which we plan on being the most comprehensive Notre Dame statistical resource on the Internet when everything is said and done.

So if you have a suggestion, a comment, criticism, whatever... please take a couple minutes and give us your feedback. Thanks for taking the time to read this and Go Irish!

Is there a place or way someone could make donations. I'm not talking huge dollars just $10 every now and then

No feedback?

Svo, I'd like to see the VBookie have its own forum instead of being scattered around the Leprechaun Lounge.
Maybe call it the "Parlor"
Perhaps it could include: all D-1 games of the week, point spreads, over/unders, etc.
I know your not running a sportsbook and it might be too much work for you but it would nice.
Just a thought.
Keep up the great work.

I'd sticky this to the top of the football board, and maybe even the recruiting board. More people will see it.

I have created a forum as recommended. I've called it the "Golden Shamrock Sports Book" and you can find it as a subforum under the Lep Lounge. As for adding every D-1 game, I don't have the time to do that.

However, maybe I'll look at bringing on a moderator that would be interested in doing that and being our resident bookie. We'll see.

Thanks Svo.
Your responsiveness to the members is truely laudable.
Thanks for everything buddy.
I really enjoy my time here.
I hope your hard work and dedication is rewarded someday.

I'm just crazy enough that I'd be willing to volunteer for that, actually. I usually have enough down-time at work each week where I have nothing to do but goof around on the Internet and wait for a guest to come to the Front Desk and complain about something. :)

The only thing I wouldn't be sure about would be setting the odds, but if you could fill me in on your methodology, I'm sure I could pick up on it.

Really, really excellent job on the new logo--fantastic job and I would be glad to donate an extra $10 whenever I can. Great work! Go ND!
