Troy traditionally is a pretty good team I think.
Nevada had a lot of spunk in their opener versus SMU but yeah a loss at home like this isnt a great start for him they got road games versus Memphis and Iowa next and will probably start 0-3

Porker went into one of the best programs in the Sun Belt and destroyed it overnight. Impressive.
From the few sites that I looked at, Troy was going to be a big rebuild this year. 1 starter back on offense and 2 starters back on defense.

The over/under for wins this year was somewhere in between 5.5 to 6.5. It looks like most viewed the three easiest games this year would be Nevada, Florida A&M and Univ of Louisiana-Monroe. Troy lost two of those three.

Going to be a long year for Parker.

Fair.

He had a lot more outgoings than incomings in the portal, too.

1-5. Took a beating, at home, from then 2-2 Texas State.

That was my thought. That Troy team lost only 2 games during the regular season last year, a close one against James Madison and an expected loss to KSU. They faced Duke in a bowl and lost by one TD. Now they're basically winless other than an FCS matchup and Troy is now the worst team in the Sun Belt.

Maybe sam hartman was actually good?!?!?
Hartman was hamstrung by an inept, first time OC and a battered, inexperienced WR group with a poor position coach. It didn't help that he had to come in and learn a new system too, but he handled it pretty well considering who was teaching it. Hartman should get more credit for navigating those waters. We should have leaned on Estime and that OL more, especially late in the big games like OSU.

Agree. Parker was the worst. Dude had us scoring 14 on one of the worst Stanford teams in 20 years and losing to Marshall because of our offensive woes. Thank God for Troy.

That was Rees, but yes, he was awful too.

Do we think Rees would have stayed if he knew he was one and done at Bama? Porker is a former. Mind boggling how someone can F up to move up but Tommy did it.
I think most rational coaches in that position take the pay raise and coach with Saban if you get the opportunity. It ended up being Saban's last year before he retired. To have been able to soak any of that in would have been worth it. Since he's become an analyst on TV, I could watch Saban break down film and talk ball for hours if time permitted.

Tommy is collecting an NFL paycheck at 32 years young. As far as I'm concerned, the joke is on all of his assbag haters with that being said.

He was good ....just not as good as expected.
Not to re-litigate the Hartman season but I would be that if he had it to do all over again, he would’ve committed elsewhere when Rees left & Parker was announced. Not saying Hartman magically turns into a Heisman candidate but rookie OC did him zero favors.

I rewatched the Louisville game from 2023 (why idk) and it was eye opening at the lack of WR ability we had last year. If Tobias took the leap we all hoped for and became a go to guy it could’ve made all the difference

Yeah. Averaging 30 ypg and 0 TDs over his last 3 games.

Get this man his Biletnikoff.
He's not even been doing that. He averaged 35 YPC against Hawaii on 3 catches, one of which went for 53 yards, but has been average since then in 4 straight UCLA losses. He's averaging 15.6 YPC on 12 catches for the year with half his total yards coming in that Hawaii game.

Yeah that’s right. Excluded today in my post because today’s game was still young and I didn’t know what was going to happen. But we always knew.
