Troy is way too good of a landing spot for a guy getting "pushed out." It's not UMass. It's a job worth taking for any coordinator. They are 23-4 over the last two seasons.

Parker was teammates with two of their last three head coaches. If Brown and Sumrall are endorsing him and Parker has been coaching at P5 schools for the last ten years, this is exactly how the sausage is made.

My God, if Parker gets the Troy job because of the endorsement of two of his "buddies" the irony is going to be absolutely thick.

On the other hand someone did hire him. Let's hope Freeman and ND give this position the due diligence it deserves. IF Gino is in fact our best option, I want it to be because of an exhaustive search and no contract negotiation flubs.

I do however expect this one to be far more private in nature than last time.

I'm seriously rooting for Parker to exceed expectations. I hope he does an awesome job at Troy. He got banged on so much because of what went down and all he did was keep pushing to be the best he could. People weren't happy, and at times, rightfully so but I appreciate his effort if not his results.

Hope he continues to grow and wish him success. Seems like a good dude.
