Agree that Parker isn’t going anywhere I don’t think it was a great hire, but I highly doubt he goes anywhere. I’m concerned about losing Golden. Parker would look far worse than he does if we didn’t have a top 5-10 defense. If we replace Golden with a young, learning on the job DC like Parker, it could spell major disaster. Even a mediocre experienced DC matched with Parker’s job would likely lead to losing seasons. Need a home run DC hire if Golden gets a HC job.

Guys thinking Parker is getting demoted this season are on crack. Maybe these first 8 games are a step in Parker learning and growing. 🤔

Second half of the season O performance after the bye is huge for this team and Parker’s future.
We’re 2/3’s through the season… we trough away this season going with him

Can’t risk throwing away the rest of it or next season as well

This comparison is so disingenuous though. USC lead the entire game against Colorado. Colorado ran 90 plays that game and played as fast as they could.

ND lead the entire game against USC and only ran 49 offensive plays to USCs 74. We obviously did not play fast when we had the ball to keep their offense off the field.

For comparison Sanders threw the ball in that game as many times as ND had total plays last night, but just about every time we needed a play we were able to make it. Whether is be the lone play action TD to Tyree or the ability to turn the short fields into TDs and not FGs.
Now imagine if the defense didn’t put the offense in such great field position? How many times did ND punt…5? Seemed like every time I looked up it was 3rd & 6 or 7. SC fans actually think Grinch is ok now and that the problem is on the offensive side of the ball.

Actually not worried about Golden leaving unless it was for a NFL DC gig. Parker bought himself time through the end of this season.

After the season there needs to be some kind of change. Whether that’s a “co-oc” or an analyst in a tendencies role that can help him in game.

Now imagine making up a situation that didnt actually happen just to have something to be unhappy and complain about. Sounds like a tendency generally reserved for wives and girlfriends.

I actually agree Parker’s play calling was better & the lack of execution was responsible for some of those misses but they weren’t playing against the UL defense that totally shut them down were they? SC fans are actually more worried about Riley than they are Grinch after last night.

You sound like one of those who goes through game day threads to whine about people complaining in real time. Sounds like a tendency generally reserved for wives & girlfriends. Lighten up, Francis

If I'm MF, I give Gino 2 weeks to prepare for Pitt and let him call that game. See what he's capable of, it can't get any worse so why not. He may be a brilliant mind that just needs his shot.

Part of Parker’s issues are the way he uses the players. Last night I believe it was the series before we punted and they had the great return, there was the fake misdirection and flip or pitch whatever you want to call it to the left with Estime and he only got like a yard. Those plays need more speed. Estime is a very good back but that play call should have been a Love or Price call.

There will be no change at all. Bet the farm on it. MF likes Parker. He likely feels confident around Parker too. He doesn't have the gumption to demote or terminate. He will go with the flow. Parker is part of this incoming class of recruits too.

When was the last time anything in the ND program was decisive??? I think the last time was when ND with Kelly went after Freeman. Since then its been by the books (i.e. by the Budget).... Jack is in control. Its really his program.

The thread titles will continue to change until performance improves (hopefully with a new OC.)
Keep dreaming. Parker is a bit better and cheaper than Rees. No need to actually open up the bank account. Keep within the Budget.....

Golden made a huge jump in D performance this year, perhaps Parker will do the same. We better hope so cause if we go 10-2 there’s no way in hell Parker isn’t OC next year

The Artist Formerly Known as Gerad Parker needs to get the offense back in the top 30 of advanced stats or have a good showing against Clemson to get his name back.

USC was a good matchup for ND. Clemson is a bad matchup for ND. ND might score 10 points against them.

Of the last 4 games, this is tied for the least frustrating with Ohio State. Not a great game but you got to understand game flow as an OC. And our D was killing them. This was a "do no harm" game...and the players needed to execute better
My only counter point to your do no harm statement is that it doesn’t help the O to get better and increases their reliance on the D having the kind of night they had last night to bail them out.
The O should have the mentality that we are going to take care of biz tonight and we don’t need our D to do anything for us - We got this!
