Regardless of how you or I feel on the hire, as soon as the season starts I am certainly rooting for Parker to do his job well and ND to win ball games. What a weird flex to look forward to being irrationally mad.
Looking forward to, and understanding how you respond to incompetence, are two different things.

I’m not looking forward to another year of sub-par offensive coordination when Rees leaving provided a real opportunity to get the program to where it claims to want to go. They settled for walking down the hallway and that’s exhausting as a fan of the program.

Agree with Dale, its definitely a "weird flex" to be looking forward to the moments when you lose your ability to handle your emotions like a grown up man.

Fans or critics, all expecting perfection. It'll be an experience through whatever lense you prefer to use. Whatever way one gets their jollies....

The one thing I got out of the press conference today was that Parker wasn’t just brought here to be a tight end coach.

Dale with the bad take. It’s a “weird flex” to spend time telling people how to conduct themselves on a message board. Especially in a sarcastic thread that keeps spelling the new OC’s name wrong every few hours.

You’re here. You’re already a lower form of life by just posting on a message board. Roll them up and dig in.

Nope, he was brought here to insure continuity of low hanging fruit OC hires. We have our next, next OC somewhere on staff, who will it be? Inquiring minds want to know!

I wasn’t really directing it solely at you, there’s a handful of other responses you could all group together. I also am not telling you to do anything. You assumed both of those things on yourself.

I don’t like the Parker hire. I’ve said it countless times. I think others could have been much better. But if ND struggles on offense you will not find me once having any sense of “I told you so”. I dont think you’d say the same. I want to know what he wants to do. Why. How. All of it. Was the play just wrong or did the player not execute. etc, etc.

The hire is done, time to strap in.

I, for one, am looking forward to the first 2nd and long draw play.

Someone start a thread and title it "Bitchfest". Any and all bitching regardless of the subject could be posted there.

And I think you don't know anything about me.

Who am I telling "I told you so" to? The rest of the Notre Dame fanbase who also doesn't think he was the right hire? What do I get from telling people who already aren't sold on him that I wasn't sold on him?

In the off-season, I think this hire stinks. And if he stinks during the season, it's going to be because he gave me statistical reasons to point to why he stinks. I didn't say Tommy Rees stunk because he was a lazy hire by Brian Kelly - even though he was a lazy hire by Brian Kelly. I said he stunk because I could literally point to why he stunk.

But I am going to be louder for Parker because he has the job because of an unforced error that continues the trend of unforced errors at the OC position for this program that are holding it back from being a championship caliber program.

Or I could be wrong! I have no reason to believe I am on February 20, 2023, but I could be! I said I was wrong about Tommy as a recruiter because he had success! You didn't see me say I was wrong about Tommy as an OC because his offenses never gave me a reason to say I was wrong.

If he ends up being a good hire, are you going to be as vocal in your positive support?

and that’s all fine man. You can go kicking and screaming until proven right or wrong. I can go the way I want. If you’re gonna go with I’m gonna be loud about this, own it! You’ll probably have vocal supporters and also get vocal opposition.

In my opinion Parker has put in the hard yards working his way up - so he deserves some respect. Where as Rees sort of got his promotion from out of nowhere.
I think Parker put his hand up in a bit of an emergency that the Rees/Bama situation and then Swarbrick left us in.
You can be angry at Swarbitch and demand his resignation while at the same time fully supporting Parker.

Yes! I don’t believe I’m wrong, and I think he’s going to be hire on the level of Brian Van Gorder, but if he ends up being a good hire, then he’ll have proved me wrong! And I’ll be vocal in saying he proved me wrong!

You can’t deny reality. I said Rees was disaster as a QB recruiter because he was. Then he landed CJ Carr and I complimented his work and he landed Kenny Minchey and I complimented his work again. This isn’t difficult to understand.

You can support Parker and question the hire. Deland McCullough also put in his time so why not him?

Sports rely on the blind loyalty of the fans. People should not fall into that trap.

Saw all of MF's comments at the presser, didn't see all of J-Rod's.

Was it addressed at all if J-Rod was involved in the hiring of GG, and potentially in hiring the OL coach?

It sounds like Parker and Freeman are heading up the search with Freeman having last call on the coach of course.

Messing with his name and the whole war daddy thing has me thinking of him as ‘The Warby Parker OC’ and I constantly have those stupid commercials I’m my head whenever I check in here,…
Lets be honest here, the whole "War Daddy" thing is pretty cringe worthy.
I support Parker, and I think he'll have an easy job as this offense is ready to explode. Lets just...find a new nickname.

"War Daddy," "Aww Schucks," and "Ghonny Rhea" are about all we have to work with so far.

Listening to today’s II pod and Prister said that Freeman stated Ludwig & Klein were his first two choices. Did Prister mean first two choices of candidates to interview or first two offers to go out? I didn’t think ND offered Klein…did they?

I think it's mostly semantics at this point. I.e. "Hey, well officially extend the offer if you'll accept it". Meaning Freeman wanted those two dudes first, but neither agreed to accept the job, and hence weren't officially offered.
