Only had it happen once. Was that michigan state little giants game. Dipped early to get home to see it. Should have stayed and got drunk

Happy with this W for the most part. This team will go with oline and Leonard. Golden has done fantastic with the defense. Just an ass kicking, physical unit that loves to hit. Literally inflicted pain on GT. Golden is worth every penny of his contract and more.
Easy fix to this. Buy her the ring, propose at Fenway, put it on the Jumbotron, then just leave it alone and go to the Brass. Problem solved

1. I can't work out what happened to the offense as Leonard was doing pretty well.
2. It great to see Howard and Mills getting back to their best.
3. Special teams were great.
34. Lets go.
Uh, punter Rendell continues to UNDERPERFORM compared to all the hype when he signed (big leg, great hang time, etc.)! I expected a helluva lot better than 37.5 yd ave. (like yesterday). May as well go for it on 4th down IF you can't consistently 'flip the field'!

I was only able to watch the highlights, so I need to take it with a grain of salt. Seemed like a lot of broken coverages/wide open guys when we were on defense? Is that not accurate? Or what was up with that?

There was a few. It was kind of a weird game. Once we got up 14-7 it never really felt close after that.

1. Al Golden’s guys show up every week. Run defense continues to improve weekly. Even without Ben Mo, the team didn’t miss a step against what is a pretty legit offensive team. And that’s like the 4th major injury the defense has had. Just unbelievable consistency.

2. Our RBs are so good and Love in particular looks like a 1st round draft pick to me. Our OL is the only thing holding our running game back from being truly elite but they’ve had so many injuries it’s hard to expect the world.

3. The passing game has virtually no ability to pick up a “3rd and 8” style 1st down. At some, that will be why ND loses their next game.

4. Big balls on those special teams fakes.
I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I didn’t love
this game.

-The uniforms were trash. Stick to the gold
pants. We’re wearing alternate uniforms too often now. We looked like Navy.
-We start off way too slow.
- I think it’s a much different if Haynes King plays
- Beaux Collins and his effort needs to be addressed
- Our inability to throw the ball will cost us. It’s that bad.
- If it’s 3rd and 6+, we’re not getting it, which goes back to my inability to throw downfield point above. Our third down conversion rate can’t be good.
- I liked the fake punt call. The fake field goal was pretty chicken shit, however.
- I’m now accepting the idea that we can really only “win ugly”. Makes for boring games, but that’s the best they can do. Doesn’t really matter I guess as long as they win
-Defense played well. Again, they had their backup QB in, and it’s likely a different game if King played, but we have no shortage of injuries as well. Defense continues to do their part.

Watching the shit shows happening at Oklahoma and Michigan makes me think that things aren’t perfect here, but both of those schools would take the job Marcus has done in an instant.

You do make a valid point.

My biggest concern from this game is that our depth at corner can’t hold up the rest of the season.

Because they're cheap...and hate college and hunting season.
FIFY. I've always wondered if these grooms were the real origin of the "surrender cobra".

It may have been a different game if King played, but it could have been a bigger beat down if we weren’t missing so many on defense or the O-line. It’s not like their backup was a raw freshman. He’s been a starter before and has plenty of game experience.

The passing game is much improved from prior to the bye. RL was missing the quick slants and TE’s. yesterday he was solid. He still needs to work on the deep ball but the passing game is working.

This was not a very good game on offense at all. Knapp seems to be going backwards.

Camping so couldn't watch. Seemed like a comfortable win. Too bad there weren't more upsets in the greater college football landscape.

Al Golden and his staff have done a fantastic job. Have they had their moments of what are you doing yea but for the most part they show up and do exactly what they are supposed to do.

The offense is a different story. The o line seems to be going backwards including Knapp.

The running back room is very very good. The substitutions are stupid sometimes though. Ford should be in for mop up duties and that’s it.

Wr/Te are doing ok with what they are dealing with at the QB spot. Collins deserves to be benched and run in practice all day for quitting on the play and not attempting a tackle.

This offense is going to get toasted in the playoffs if we make it. I know USC is trash but they will play ND hard and it’s at their place.

At some point we will face a team that will be able to jump the slants and will load the box to stop the run. Might be in the playoffs but if we can’t extend the field we won’t be able to go very far against and elite team.

Anyone else get the idea the ESPN crew was giving us a heads up and even if we win out we’re going to get fucked by some undeserving SEC midweight?
I’m trying to make sense of their percentages to make playoffs. Like I saw that LSU has a low chance to make the playoffs even though they are ranked 8 rn. I guess they are prognosticating more losses in the future. I’d expect if LSU makes the playoffs they would be salivating at a ND at LSU matchup just for drama sake.

Actually, the LSU/ND matchup would be more likely as a “high end” bowl game than a playoff game.
Look at LSU’s schedule and it’ll make sense; they are a long shot to get in and we all know about the various obstacles to a ND getting in.
Plenty of bowl games with ACC/SEC notations.
