I don't know who the idiot on the left is, but he has "zero" confidence that ND will win out because of the NIU game. Ok yeah, ignore the more recent data points. It's like using a poll from August to try to predict who's going to win the Presidential election

The guy in the middle is the dumbest of them all though. Doesn't think 11-1 ND doesn't get into the Playoff.

I apologize for posting this. But it's a bye week

Those guys are complete idiots. They use no numbers to back up their stupid takes. They're just talking heads.

Our efficiency numbers are essentially the same as Texas, the efficiency numbers their employer releases.

When you realize these guys don’t do any homework and just spout off based on preconceived notions it makes you feel better. They’re mailing it in like lots of other mediocre people do at their jobs.

Only 17 power 4 teams remain with 0 or 1 loss after week 9. This number will continue to shrink to around 6 or 7 by the end of the regular season.
Yeah and you've got Texas/Tx A&M, Geo/Tenn, IU/Ohio St, Penn St/ Ohio St so even with no big upsets there will be less than 17. And there will be upsets. Just don't let ND be one of them and we'll be fine .All the SEC contenders have at least one really tough game left.

IMO the Big12 and ACC teams will be 3 and 4 and very beatable. If we can get either of them in the quarters we can get to the semis which would be a great season by anyone's measure.

Ideally we could get the loser of the ACC or Big12 championship game in the first round, even more beatable. Or Penn St. Definitely like our chances vs them.

Exactly my thoughts. Realistically we could play something like BYU at home in first round and Clemson in the 2nd round.

I think the funny thing about these guys mentioning would a TAMU/ND rematch produce the same results as week 1 is that the same rule doesn't apply with ND/NIU. No one ever mentions Miami backed out of the this year's schedule either.

The point about the passing game is fair IMO, but there is no doubt ND (RL) is improving in that regard.

Was just looking at next year’s schedule. Do we end up going to Miami after they ducked South Bend this year? We might be obligated with the ACC agreement.

🚨 Updated FPI Dropped 🚨

Irish move up to #5, and are now only 3.2pts away from #1 Texas, the closest we’ve been to #1 in the 19 year history of the FPI.

I like Connelly’s SP+ (and others) more, but certainly a great data point for where this team stands from a “close the gap” perspective, especially in a year where there is no truly elite team. Maybe we need to set our sights higher.

The moment we get in the playoffs all bets are off. Anyone can do anything this year.

I think our offense - passing game in particular - will continue to improve. If that happens we're capable of beating just about anyone. Just wish we still had BenMo and Traore. I think we'll miss them against more dynamic offenses in the playoffs.

Just keep Leonard healthy. Angeli is like the statue of Liberty in the pocket.

FPI is stupid

Texas is ahead of Georgia, Ohio State is ahead of Oregon, Alabama is ahead of Tennessee, Old Miss is #6, USC (4-4) is #15, ahead of undefeated teams like Iowa State, Pitt, and BYU

Updated SP+ is also out, confirms the ND related takeaways. This Team is GOOD.

- 23.9 would be the highest end of season rating for an ND team since the 1995 season (as someone born in 1996, literally the “best” team of my lifetime).

- At only 4.4 away from #1 Texas, this is the closest an ND team has been to #1 rating since 1992, when we finished #2 in SP+, and only 1.6 away from #1 FSU.

- The NIU loss is continues to be infuriating

IF so...that loss will wind up having done more good than bad. Which is amazing considering where the program was at immediately following that game. Here for it.
Emmanuel Acho pretty much said the same thing over the weekend. It's one thing for a head coach to preach "staying in the moment" but it's a whole lot different when you can point to a time when the players and/or staff DIDN'T stay in the moment and got utterly embarrassed.

I agree, and I'd include Craig and Botelho there too. JB was playing out of his mind before his injury and Craig is probably our best OLineman. It's huge that Schrauth is back though imo.
