I agree with you, and can only imagine the difficulty for both sides in the situation. A law enforcement office must protect himself at all times while performing his duties, and sometimes doing so can create or compound difficult situations. All I was saying is that it is hard for me to come down hard on a kid for this, as opposed to all the other condemnable actions we have seen from arrested college football athletes. We have the benefit of hindsight now, but I must admit even I would be susceptible to being caught up in the moment and forego rationality when someone I love, especially a woman, is involved.
