Postgame Thoughts:
1) Rylie Mills with 3 sacks, FSU with 3 points.
2) I am impressed with the depth this team has.
3) The crowd/fanbase is behind Angeli, when he came in last night chats of "Steve" came from the crowd.
4) I've noticed from week-week how J. Love's blocking is getting better in our passing game.
5) Both sides of the ball took care of business- if Love didn't have a big run, Price did. Our LB's are fun to watch.
6) Game atmosphere was definitely a step up- fireworks were nice to see. Great game for our recruits to see!

Go Irish!
I wouldn't put any stock into the crowd chanting Angeli's name. Nobody in their right mind would want him starting over Leonard. I only wanted Angeli in there so that Leonard wouldn't get hurt

Did Jayden Thomas get any run in this game? I don't remember seeing him, so wonder if Colzie replaced him in the lineup.
Woke up thinking the same thing this morning. He’s been a solid blocker and good short yardage possession receiver. We lose Collins, Mitchell & Harrison next year. Are we able to hold onto Thomas and Colzie? Colzie has out in some legit size and laid a beautiful block on the Riley TD run. If we can hold the current lineup Luo together we don’t need a transfer in.
Just get a good punter and PK!

FSU just fired like their entire staff lol… both coordinators, and I think some position coaches
They have a bye week, then Charleston, then Florida.

If they come back from the bye & win those two games, all their fans will be back drinking the Norvell Kool aid & saying he solved the problem.

I listened to some FSU podcasts this morning while doing cardio, & of course they didn’t talk about the ND game at all, they just talked about what was going to happen this by week.
And they mentioned all their sources telling them it was a really bad & strange plane trip back from the game. Norvell wasn’t watching film or discussing the game with assistants. He was just by himself.

Florida State is possibly the worst college football team I’ve ever seen. They are absolutely abysmal!
That honor belongs to Stetson Hatters, they had to schedule NAIA teams to come close to winning a game.

Observations from gameday:
1. Tailgating was full throttle
2. Pregame with fireworks and light show was nice precursor of things to come
3. Disappointed at several easy wide open pass misses, as well as drops
4. Defense clamps down when they need to; end of first half was awesome with 2 scores to enable us to pull away
5. Not sure what all happened on the Love TD and subsequent extra point melee. Didn't show any replays in the stadium
6 Crowd was engaged
7. Overall good environment for recruit visitors
8. Rain free

No need to watch film. He knew he was going to fire some guys.

I'm out of town for a wedding and watched the game on my phone at the reception, so I didn't comment last night.

But I just want to say to everyone pissing their pants last week ... I fucking told you. FSU is generationally horrific. ND wasn't losing that game even if the backups played the full 60. Their only good players are the P and K, and ND STILL blocked some punts. Just garbage, top to bottom. Norvell is stealing from them.

On the Love TD, he was standing up with a FSU defender laying on the ground holding his leg behind him. He pulled his leg out, & when he did a FSU player shoved him backwards, so that same foot stepped directly on the chest of the downed FSU player. The ref saw this & knew it was no biggie & Love didn’t mean to step in him.

On the extra point, the FSU player went dirty late on the kick, & did it to a ND OL while being surrounded by other ND OL…not smart. Pendleton launched him & immediately got grabbed by other ND players & walked away. Good on him.

What the heck was Norvell so upset about on that play, besides getting blown out?

It’s like when I said ND fans shouldn’t be afraid of GT. Everyone kept bringing up NIU. And I doubled down & said ND would win by 3 scores, to stop being afraid of teams ND is much better then. ND won that by 3 scores (18 points) and physically beat the shit out of GT. They were peeling players off the turf all game.

He was tearing into his player that started it.
And assistant coach was trying to talk to the player and Norvell was pushing him out if the way and yelling at the player over his shoulder. He wasn’t happy about a player doing nothing all game in a blowout loss, but then finally using energy to shove players after the whistle. LOL

Sorry if I missed it, what's the word on Cross? Didn't look good at the time.

Any other casualties?

Think the question is "ankle sprain" or "high ankle sprain". Former might be a week or two, latter would mean he's not back until the playoffs reallistically.

I wonder if Norvell looked across the sideline on Saturday and wondered about Mickens as his next DC

Idk if this has been posted anywhere but man I feel for this dude lol. Is it possible to do a well check on this fella?

I saw that show, & the show was a legitimate 2 minutes behind the live game, so it hadn’t happened yet on TV. So the caller really did call it in real time. The hosts kept looking up at the TV & checking game cast & it hadn’t been shown, so they literally say, “I guess we will just have to take his word for it…” LOL

The caller flew to ND from Hawaii, booked it a year ago & it was a $1200 flight, plus all other expenses.

The part that makes me feel for him is just how complimentary and appreciative he was of ND, the campus, and the tradition. Then Luke Talich pulls a Kanye and interrupts with a pick-6 and sends the caller over the edge of the cliff lol.
