The majority of citizens in these Arab nations may have their issues with Iran, but they absolutely loathe Israel. Most of them oppose their own governemnts letting the U.S. park bases on their land to protect Israel’s interests.

Striking U.S. bases instead of civilians or civilian infrastructure, which is what I believe they did everywhere outside Dubai, puts pressure directly on those governments. It forces their leadership to answer to their own people and maybe think twice before letting the U.S. park bases in their country to protect Israel. Dubai is basically a global finance hub full of expats and money. They'll just run away with their money.

The left will attack Trump and the GOP, but it’ll mostly be political theater. They won't touch the actual issue - Israel controlling US policy - b/c they are bought off and blackmailed by Israel too. The few exceptions will still be hesitant b/c they know open and honest criticism of Israel is political suicide. The Israel lobby will just pour money at another candidate who will be their replacement.
worth mentioning also is that these countries citizens are asking why is the US protecting Israel from missile attacks but not them to the same extent?

I know it's a popular opinion but it's actually the opposite. We tell Israel what they can and can't do.

We tell them when they can go to war and how long they have to do it.

We did not supply them in 1948. They were reduced to using Warsaw Pact planes.

We were the ones who ordered them out of the Suez In 1956.

They asked us if the could launch a pre-empted war in 1967. LBJ said 'you have two weeks to get it done'.

We told them to stay out of the Gulf War, even though they were attacked repeatedly.

They wanted to continue the 12 day war last summer but we said no.

Israel is a very close and important ally of ours. We give them a pretty long leash. They are an attack dog of ours. But they do what we tell them to do when it counts. Not the other way around. This has been coming since 1979 on our end. Trump was just the one who had the guts to actually do it.

I have to think that is changing. I doubt they anticipated strikes on Dubai,Cyprus, Abu Dhabi, etc. like this. I would have thought they anticipated strikes in Bahrain. I wonder if our movement to the region isn't going to help this problem. Also as we continue to diminish their ability to fight, this should improve. Saudi Arabia was probably surprised too. If we can shutdown the navy, which it appears we are close, and assume control of the Strait of Hormuz and get some of these ships moved into the Gulf, it could provide some defense there as well.

Israel isn't the only one who benefits from this by the way. I think this opens the door to more peace deals. Certainly doesn't hurt Ukraine. This puts the world back in a place where the looney tunes are just the goat bangers in Afghanistan who were curiously attacked by Pakistan around the This puts the world back in a place where the Looney Tunes are just the goat-bangers in Afghanistan who were curiously attacked by Pakistan around the same time this kicked off.

I noticed that too. Pakistan is playing ball. They are a strange ally. They are only one because India sided with the Soviets. Probably doing a solid for us after the Osama debacle on their part.
