We all have them. That moment when you knew you were sold for life. For my father, it was the Oklahoma vs. ND game in 1957 which ended OU's 47 game win streak. For me, it was the Catholic vs. Convicts game in '88 (later that night, we watched Gibson hit a walk-off homer for the Dodgers in the Series). When was yours?

best moment is in 05' when usc qb fumbles the ball out of bounds to give ND the win.

Least favorite moment when the refs blow the call and give the ball back to usc.

Best one the last few years would be Samardzija's TD against UCLA.

The comeback against MSU in 2006 is pretty close.

Mine is more of a favorite moment as a fan, not with the football program per se. Some of you might now that I ran my first marathon in South Bend in June and I finished by running in through the North end zone, onto the field and crossing the finish line on the 50 yard line. For me, my favorite ND moment will always be running out of the tunnel and seeing my family jump up and cheer for me as they called my name on the overhead speaker. If anyone on this board is ever going to run a marathon, do it at South Bend. It's incredible.

I have never known a day when I wasn't an ND fan. If I had to point to one glorious moment, it would be watching this play from the opposite side of the field.

Stepping onto campus for the first time. I was always a huge fan, but man, that day I was somehow infinitely more hooked than ever...

For me it was probably beating fsu in 93. Running onto the field after, and then seeing the #1 go up on grace. Just an incredible day all around. Of course my worst day came one week later. Damn you fredo.

I'm a younger guy, so I haven't been following ND football as long as some of you. My favorite moment was beating Utah on Senior Night in 2010, and rushing the field for the first time. As a senior, I couldn't have asked for a better way to go out.

I vote we keep this thread active until seasons start. We need positive reinforcement.

I was fortunate enough to be in the LA Coliseum in 1988, when then #1 ND played #2 USC. I had seen ND play before at stanford but the electricity at the Coliseum that day couldn't compare to my previous experiences watching ND. My favorite ND moment was seeing Frank Stams bury Rodney Peete on Stan Smagala's INT for a touchdown. Later that night my buddy and I watched the videotape of the game and replayed that play numerous times!

GO IRISH!!!

Like someone else said,I've been a diehard fan since I was little...can't even remember the moment I became a fan except when i used to go to ND hockey games with family and friends when I was little.
But I have 2 favorite moments:
1.2004 when I got to see ND live for the first time at Tennessee when we broke Ainge's hand and won.
2.Last year at the Navy game when I got to go to my first home game.Greatest day of my life.

Zibby is my favorite player of all time, so anything including him, but just to be different I'll say 2007 when Golden Tate had those two insane catches against Purdue. That was when you could tell he was going to be something special.
