Can't believe no one is talking about Barca not advancing in Champions League...looking forward to Arsenal vs Sporting tomorrow.

I hardly watch anymore but I see Bayern now up on aggregate.

Nice to see. Most likeable of the superclubs

Real Madrid being trophyless this year is tremendously satisfying. About as collectively unlikable as any club on Earth. Behavior on the pitch during and after matches speaks loudly. Whoever hires Xabi Alonso next will have benefited from this group of Real players being a bunch of pricks.

I look forward to Simeone shithousing Arteta at his own game in the semifinal.

So the Greenville Triumph are offering ownership investments for as little as $2500. Should I do it so I can say I own a sports franchise?

Well played by the City fans who unveiled the "Panic on the Streets of London" banner yesterday. Outstanding stuff.

Very true...it was a good game otherwise, and Arsenal showed some life for the 1st time in like 2 weeks...
They had chances. The last one by Havertz was so close to going level 2-2.

This isn't even a pre juggernaut Guardiola City team and they're still in position to get their grip on the title now. I don't understand why Arteta has this team playing like Tony Pulis' Stoke City but if they come in second four years in a row it might be worth revisiting. I know a lot of Arsenal fans who are already clamoring for Cesc Fabregas.

Chelsea Football Club's actions embody who and what they are. A trainwreck of a club that has so much money they could care less about anything or anyone. They don't develop players, they don't develop people, they want a Super League. They buy Brighton players, want to be like Brighton and they are everything that Brighton is not.

At least under the ownership of a Russian oligarch there was a greater sense of identity and purpose. They're absolutely hilarious. Total shit show.

The Clint Dempsey documentary on Paramount Plus was very well done. Remarkable story in terms of where he came from and how he got to where he is now. I consider him the best USMNT player of all time. The guy is just built and wired very different.

Alonso to Liverpool perhaps?

That was a proper game of football yesterday, and we get another leg of it next week. It's fun to watch a couple of teams actually play the game and try to win. The Premier League is complete shit now because everyone is playing like Stoke City only they have tons of money.

SPFL is looking like a hell of a finish.... Whoever holds serve between Hearts, Huns, and Celtic over the next few weeks will be crowned.

Wrexham is a game away from the promotion playoff. Don't think they expected such success this year. Probably beneficial for them to make it but not actually earn promotion to build up their squad a bit more. As great a story it would be, I don't think them being a yo-yo club would be good for them.

I had no idea they were that high already,... I don't follow English soccer that much,... did they simply win promotion like every year since the takeover, or just about??

2022/23: National League (Champions)
2023/24: EFL League Two (Runners-up - Promoted to League One)
2024/25: EFL League One (Runners-up - Promoted to Championship)

I believe three years in a row had not been done previously. The Championship playoff is going to be absolutely wild. 2-5 is very tight, and 2nd will go up automatically. If Wrexham get that sixth spot, it should be very entertaining.

I mean, is their stadium even PL standard? Is that still a thing in England, where your grounds must meet a certain standard or you can’t be promoted? Pretty incredible if so,… very long way in very little time I guess

It is not. If they go up to the Premier League next year somehow, I don't even think Deadpool would be able to get upgrades down in time for the start of the season in August.

You are also going to have players on Premier League wages driving sports cars around Wrexham before you know it, and their fan base is not used to that. Is it a matter of time before these working class fans start getting priced out of tickets and get replaced by Wolverine and the Hollywood mob?

It all seems like a great problem to have until it isn't.
