I’ll never understand the FSG out people. They have turned the club into more valuable than ManU. They are getting to finals. Have won every major trophy since Klopp arrived, improved the stadium and surrounding area among other things and people are still bitching about not buying a midfielder. Crazy.

They don’t panic buy and make smart transfers. Sometimes that isn’t going to work out or the timing is terrible like it is today. Whatever. There probably isn’t a better run group out there that isn’t able to go into debt to buy trophies.

I literally thought it was a joke that there are people wanting FSG out. Wow. I'd love to have United run like that.

I saw someone (several actually on Twitter) bitch about them proceeding with further improvements to the stadium and expanded seating. They were upset that FSG was dumping money into getting more ticket sales instead of buying a midfielder before the window closes. 😂.

Like they can just start and stop stadium design and expansion plans on a dime or they haven’t been in the works for years. Haha. JFC. And like how do they even think you make money for the club….

Mourinho's Chelsea, Wenger's Arsenal and Guardiola's City have zero Champions Leagues among them. That could potentially change on the latter, but consider how good some of these teams have been and they've never won a Champions League or even a League title in some respects.

I've been thinking about that this summer. EPL teams, for as good as they seem to be, don't do well in European competitions. Whereas Spanish clubs tend to do amazing in both Champion's League and Europa League. I would say that the EPL is just a tougher league (two great teams lately, but 4 or 5 more really good ones) whereas La Liga has two or three great teams. I also think the EPL is a bit rougher on players with hard fouls. However, I think I am biased so I don't believe myself.

I would love to see Real Madrid play Burnley or Stoke away at night in January. Sort of like wanting to see Alabama play in Wisconsin the week before Thanksgiving.

I think the style of play in the CL and EL seem to suit continental teams a little more. Can't put my finger on it much, and I don't have data, but from watching games, it just feels like English teams' styles don't quite mesh with it.

That may be true but seems like more of an excuse for the lack of championships for the EPL. I think it has more to do with top end talent being spread out more in the EPL than other leagues.

Liverpool and Chelsea have won the CL recently. A lot of it is draw, timing, away goals. Away goals are a thing of the past now. Even if you look at the total number of titles and runner up finishes there isn't much that separates Spain, Italy and England.

It's a competition for the bigger clubs in the end. There isn't really a March Madness element of surprise to it. Maybe when Mourinho's Porto won it. The deeper teams will go far because they can handle the match load.

I think it seems like both. Definitely more spread out talent in the EPL. Definitely a different style, ruggedness that wears on the EPL teams over a long season/deep cup runs.

You are right. The depth of quality teams in the EPL means EPL squads can have anywhere from 12-18 really tough league games a season. Added to that is greater importance placed on the FA Cup within the English squads compared to other leagues' domestic cups, so another 2-3 tough cup games for the first teamers depending on how deep a team goes in the FA Cup.

Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Barcelona may face 4-6 tough league matches a season. It feels like the German and Spanish league winners are comfortably leading their leagues as the final weeks of the season arrive so the clubs can afford to rest and refresh their starters in domestic games and switch their focus to advancing in the European competitions. Meanwhile, the first team players on the top flight EPL teams have a lot more wear and tear on their bodies by the time the Europa and Champions League semis and finals roll around because they've played a lot more meaningful domestic games through the course of a season, especially if they've advanced far in the domestic cup competitions and are fighting for a place in the EPL's top 4.

Pretty favorable draws for EPL teams. Barcelona and Bayern - neither will like that draw. Juventus probably dissapointed too

Maybe some intrigue in Group D, but otherwise I don't see anything exciting here.

Inter goes through over Barca.

Pretty interesting draws for both Rangers and Celtic.... I'm not predicting it or anything but I could see both surviving and continuing Euro games after the groups. Of course Celtic gets squeaky clean, Real Madrid after my student encounter yesterday.

Van Dijk and Robertson going back to Ibrox should be something.

Rangers is coming in 4th. And they deserve it.

Close to 80$ million for Aleksander Isak to Newcastle. Absolutely insane money.

The “next Ibrahimovic” goes for more than the original ever went for….

Yeah that’s insane money for a player like that,… what happened to them not going in on CPul and others because they didn’t want to break the bank??? I guess they see more potential in this kid than the average person???
