Highly doubtful. 6 points behind Liverpool who have a game in hand and a wide GD on their side. 3 points today would've made it interesting.
Those two centerbacks are outstanding. The keeper had quite a game.

They got run ragged the second half. I don't know that they have the gas to go all the way, but they're a good side.

They had some players have tremendous years, but Kante was the key. He moves to Chelsea after that season with Leicester and Chelsea wins the title.

That guy was incredible.

Burned in my memory. The only realistic shot for Spurs to win the title and we squandered to an eventual champion that was narrowly ver 80 points on the year. We actually played so poorly at the end, we landed 3rd.

(all but one were in the 15/16 side. Insane we didn't win one trophy.)

that point total is prolly one of the lowest point totals to win the league recently. You need 90 or better the last decade or so.

and they won it by 10 pts
Indeed. Everyone expected them to drop off at some point over the last 10 matches and i don't think they lost a match. Most impressive sporting feat i was able to witness.

I was in Montreal with my wife on a quick getaway and we popped into a pub to watch Spurs v Leicester. They started the season off hot and I was (stupidly) explaining how some teams get off to a hot start but they will ultimately fall back. Little did I know Vardy, Mahrez, Kante were gonna put on a masterclass

I still have no idea what to make of Arsenal.
Very injured team. 2 red cards have cost us 4 points. Really closes the gap when you look at it that way.

Missing Ode for the first third of the season was tough. Now Saka and White have been out for a while, and won't be back for even more time. Pool are playing out of their mind too.

Anyone seen this? For some reason I have never heard of this. “Damned United”

It's a great movie. I knew nothing about Brian Clough prior to seeing it. Michael Sheen nails it.

Went on to read Clough's autobiography and a biography about him called Nobody Ever Says Thank You by Jonathan Wilson.

I have to say, I have some sympathy for Arsenal. Top three attackers injured is beyond dire circumstances. That being said, they don't seem to be handling it well mentally.

When they beat Leicester late a week ago, it was concerning. Then Friday when Brentford destroyed Leicester, you had the sense that maybe West Ham could get something off of Arsenal. Even with all of their guys healthy, Arsenal didn't seem like a side that attacked very well. So now you have all those guys injured and you're REALLY not attacking well.

IDK. Has to be frustrating. I really don't know what to make of Arteta and how he handles the mental aspect of managing his players. Three straight second place finishes with no trophies could be a tough road to continue down. Spending more money isn't necessarily the answer either. Chelsea has now proven that and then some.

You're spot on. Not dipping into the market in January was ridiculous. They've wasted tons of money on mid players that aren't good enough or never available and let good quality players sign elsewhere. thank God for Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri.

I agree about the attack. I saw it like that a couple seasons ago, regardless of goal records. It didn't pass the eye test for me. Very little off the ball movement , zero attempt to play on the counter, always slowing it down. Very rigid possession based fear of turning the ball over because they can give up the counter. Sideways passing, back passing. Very frustrating and boring to watch. Little creativity, no speed, no grit.

I think I like Arteta the man, I think he's smart. I don't always like how he acts on the sideline, somewhat petulant. I also think he's stubborn as a manager. 5 years no trophies, and now it looks like they need a bunch more players. This season could get really bad. Will be interesting to see what happens it they drop out of top 4.

The January market is always tricky, and even more so now, especially considering how many PL teams are mathematically in the hunt for Top 4 right now. Newcastle wasn't going to sell Isak to anyone for any amount of money. I just don't know that bringing in more high transfer fee players is the correct thing. Their mentality seems to be the issue, the "everyone is against us" bit. It just seemed like a deflated squad against West Ham.

I know City isn't what they have been this year, but when West Ham beat Arsenal on Saturday, Sunday's City vs Liverpool match felt like a cup final. Liverpool knowing Arsenal had already lost meant that match at the Etihad was a huge opportunity for them. They got the two goals, had possession for a third of the match and saw it out. It was a very professional performance.

It's somewhat interesting in England this year. 3-10 is pretty wide open.

A couple loan moves would have been perfect to help see out the season. Maybe Arteta is wearing on the players. Everyone seems a bit off and they're counting on a couple of teenagers. I'd like to see something change tactically with all these injuries. You can't just keep hammering a low block when nothing is working and then get popped on the break.
Maybe they need another Dubai trip.

The load seems like a lot to bear for Odegaard.

Arsenal are at Forrest today and by halftime of that match, Liverpool and Newcastle will be starting up. Should be interesting.

I've had some time to digest things. Here we go.

1. I have always tempered my expectations with the USMNT. This is why. They're not that good, and they're certainly not good enough to show up without their best Eleven and win games. Top two strikers and both fullbacks out. So be it. That being said, some other guys could have played much better than they showed.

2. Panama doesn't have any dudes playing for big European clubs. It showed because they clearly hold the USMNT to a higher standard and fight for everything when they play. That's three out of the last four they've won I believe?

3. European club football is big business. It's big money. They invest a lot in players. So while it is great we have Americans playing for big clubs in Italy, England, Germany, France we still need these guys to actually give a fuck when they put the shirt on for their country. If the risk is too big for them, they can respectfully decline.

4. Gold Cup or bust now. They have to come out and put on a showing of pride and grit for the World Cup. Hell, maybe win the damn thing? After the Gold Cup, the road to the World Cup is pretty short. Pochettino now has to take a good long look at what he's got and see what he wants to do this summer.

That's it. Wasn't terribly surprised but was nonetheless disappointed.
