Playing The Fort here in Indy on 7/3. One of my favorite courses. A buck with huge antlers ran across the fairway about a 100 yards out from our tee box the last time I played it.

I think they are the official sponsor of the PGA. Purchased a couple of their shirts while attending US Open and I really like them.
My buddy took a few customers out there and loaded up on Peter Millar/Corona swag & then bought some sweet Millar golf shirts. They had a ball.

After JOK's tweet to his brother I looked at his tweet activity. I found this gem. I see a guy grip the club like that and I'm standing 25 feet behind him, hopefully behind a tree. LOL

Playing Forest Dunes next week for my annual trip with the boys, then another to SentryWorld end of August. Can't wait to get back out there!

The odyssey website is going to crash when they drop the release of the Jailbird this month. That’s 3 wins in a row.

The Fort was really nice yesterday. I highly recommend booking on a Monday to get the reduced rate. A lot of rolling hills which is not common for an Indy course.

Headed to play another round here in about an hour…my 4th in the last 5 days. Sore as hell and not sure how I’m going to return to work tomorrow, but screw it…let’s go play some golf.

The Open Championship organizers have a terrific sense of theatre. After Brooks Koepka's comments about Patrick Cantlay's "brutally slow" play during his final round meltdown at The Masters, the Open organizers have paired Koepka and Cantlay for the first two rounds this week. Can't wait to see Brooksie holing out his putt while Cantlay is still back up the fairway staring at his yardage book. Let's go!

Highly recommend Golf Moose for their deals.

For those around the Indy area, only Golf Club of Indiana is repped on Golf Moose. What's usually a $70 round, I got a buy one, get one voucher and paired myself with a friend for a $35 per person round (mid-day on a Sunday). I played about as badly as I have in years, but still enjoyed getting out there.

I used to play once per week and would typically shoot in the low 80s (never had a lesson, just grip and rip). Then I hurt my back and had 5 surgeries over a ten year stretch. I only get out about 2 or 3 times per year now and typically shoot low 90s from the same tees. (not old enough for the senior tees yet eventhough my back feels like I'm about 65 years old). Shot an embarrassingly bad 97 Sunday. Just brutal off the tee. Couldn't hit a fairway to save my life. It's a fun track though. Greens were phenomenal.

Got another voucher for a little redemption. Played with my co-workers and shot the best round I've had in years. 39/41 for an 80. I was -2 through the first 4 holes. I didn't drive the ball particularly well but my irons and putting were on fire.

I improved 17 shots in one week on the same course. Golf is a crazy sport.

Golf Moose was in PA for a hot second, but I haven’t seen deals for here in over a year. My buddies and I use GroupGolfer which gets some really really good deals. I think that’s available in Indiana too, but not sure.

I Just shot par tonight. It’s been a minute.

Also, my son (8th grader) has improved 30 or so strokes over the summer. Starts golf season for the high school tomorrow.
Still weird to me that there are states with golf as a fall sport in high school. I’m thankful in Indiana golf is in the spring so that I could play both that and football. Not sure what I would’ve chosen if they overlapped. Best of luck to your son on his season!

It's a spring sport here in MI, too.

I ran track my Freshman - JR. years to stay in shape for football...but I hated that sport lol.

My Sr. year came around, and I realized I didn't "need" to run track anymore...so I quit and joined the golf team. Two and a half months of free golf as a Sr. on the JV golf team haha, I regret nothing. I got so much better in those two months and the hobby stuck with me 12+ years later.

Lol. It was actually the opposite for me. I played golf my Fr. and Soph. years because at the time we had five collegiate level golfers on the varsity squad. Our coach didn't give two shits about what everyone else did. Free, no pressure golf for two and half months was pretty amazing. When they all graduated, it just so happen that the class behind me had 3 collegiate level golfers as well. The golf coach turned into a bit of a dick while trying to fill the remaining two spots on varsity. So I made the decision to quit and run track (aka chase girls).

In hindsight, I wish I would've taken golf more seriously back then. I didn't truly "practice" until I was out of college.

Your kid want to teach me to take 30 strokes off my game as well? Goodness that's a big improvement over one summer.

To be fair, he had a lot of improvement to make. He just started last year. Was shooting around 130 for 18, now down around 100.

It sucked when I was in high school. Loved golf but picked football mostly because of peer pressure. I always wondered how well I could have done on the state level had I continued on the team.

My bachelor party is this weekend and we've got three rounds planned. And I have league tomorrow night, so that's a total of 63 holes in 4 days.

Wish my swing and my liver luck lol

I figured. hah

If I shot 30 lower than I do now I'd be a pro. Instead I'm just painfully average. Working on it after picking it up just a few summers ago though.

That's great though. Most fun, most humbling game there is.

I played a lot in my teens and 20s. Took a 10-15 year hiatus other than maybe once or twice a summer. But now that my son is into it, this is the most I've probably golfed in a season in my life.

At some point it would be nice to update my equipment. Still rockin' the Ping Eye 2 Black Dots and 13 year old Rocketballz driver, but I guess they still work, haha.

So you're saying it's the golfer and not the equipment? Man! Hoped I could buy my way out of a shitty golf game. lol
