Plus, I hate to burst anybody's bubble, but those rankings are essentially contrived anyway. Do you really think the #1 QB recruit is that much better then the #2 QB recruit? Or the #5? Or the #10? There must be a million senior QBs in this country looking at various colleges.

Agreed. Frankly, if you're in the top 20 recruiting classes, you've acquired some blue-chip athletes and it's a crapshoot as to who really has more talent. At that point, it probably has more to do with player development, coaching philosophies and off-field factors than the number of stars a recruit got from an analyst.

I don't know if I would go that far. I just think its more of a tier-system then a direct ranking system. To say there are eight or so first-tier QBs that all the standard BCS schools want, and then another ten or so that constitute their second-tier, etc., makes sense. I just hate numbering these kids.

Sharpley met with cutcliffe. He said he is taking a unoffical to ND this weekend and an offical 14th he said why two because wants to get familar with campus and coaches and most of all to help recruit. He said he has a good relationship with DJ Hord and wants to help recruit Montario Hardesty.

I think both Peterson and a gentleman named Bush might have something to say about that. ;)

Brady in '06 after both those guys go pro.

If Notre Dame came out and did things nobody give them 1:1000000 shot to do, you never know. We could all of the sudden become the media darlings again.

Most definitely. When/If Brady wins the Heisman or Weis leads the boys to a National Title, the ND bandwagon will be overflowing.

Anyone wanna bet it will be ESPN riding shotgun like they've been there the whole time?

Actually, I'm not sure Trev is going to let this one die. I think he'll still be saying ND sold out to get back, and how we're more like the Raiders then the Irish "he grew up with." But we'll see.

I rather think he will say "if u had given Ty another year look at how HE would have turned this team around" ignoring the fact that Weis devoloped Quinn as he did Brady

What vault did you pull the thread out of? LOL! The last post before the one I posted was sent when I was still in my 30s. I am now 50.

Haha I had to go all the way to the last page of the search - I was trying to find his recruit thread but I guess they didn't do them back then. It's kind of depressing to read some of the comments from back in the day. But I thought this was some cool insight via Evan Sharpley.

Evan Sharpley the 1st baseman?

Freshman year I played against an ND baseball team featuring Evan Sharpley and one Golden Tate. Tate hit two doubles, one of which was a bloop single for a normal human being and it was possibly the quickest I've ever seen anyone run to second base
