Liverpool are ****, their players are ****, Hodgson is ****, and England are ****.

Quarterfinal exit on penalties is best-case scenario for them, sadly.

We need to have a poll as to how many legs Nigel DeJong is going to break.....

How that wasn't a straight red card is beyond me. Matter of fact, they could have had about 3 straight reds that game...

...........and Spain could have been booked several times for simulation, Iniesta possibly sent off if these chicken **** officials would actually book someone for either infraction.

Personally, I think after his tackles on Ben Arfa and on Stuart Holden (in a friendly nonetheless) should warrant his outright banning. This dude is criminal in his tackles....I have never seen someone go studs up so many times and get away with it.
I bet he causes injury to at least two people during this tourney.

The problem with simulation is identifying intent along with or without contact. It really is a hard call to make in the game for the ref. Hell even in slow motion it is a tough call on most. If you are not Gilardino anyway....

I disagree........most of these dives are plain as day. Case in point, Iniesta turned in to Greg Luganis during that WC final, even Martin Tyler made light of it. These refs need to grow a set and book players not just for simulation but also fo horrific tackles ala DeJong. Maybe if someone was actually sent off for once and suspended for a match or two, on a consistent basis around the world, the players would get the hint and stop doing it.

BTW, Spain are the new diving champions of the world.......they've surpassed Italy with ease. :king:

Nigel isn't going to break any legs from the bench, because Strootman is going to be playing DM for the Dutch.

Liverpool's players are all ****? C'mon, you're taking the ****.

Sorry if it was not clear, but I was highlighting some of the ridiculous ones for a little fun. I still think most of the time, the times people want simulation called, they just arent going to get it. I do agree harsher penalties would probably help, but FIFA would have to rule on it and we know how that goes. An investigation, inquiries, ....blah blah blah and then a completely irartional conclusion.

I'll tell you exactly why he won't pick Rio for the squad; because Rio won't listen to him and his "hoof the ****ing ball up the pitch" tactics. Rio is a ball playing central defender, the same as Daniel Agger at Liverpool. Uncle Woy doesn't like his CBs playing the ball out from the back. He told Daniel Agger, arguably the most technical center back in the PL, and I quote, to "get the ****ing ball up the pitch" when he played it from the back.
.

That might have been the reason he initially chose JT over Rio, but ultimately it came down to the issue between the two. Rio said he wouldn't feel comfortable being with JT at the tournament because of the racism allegations, and Hodgson had a choice to make...one or the other.

He can't pick Rio after what happened to Cahill, simply because he didn't pick Rio originally due to the fact Rio and JT won't work together. If Rio had simply said, "yes, i can work with JT" he'd be on the plane to Poland/Ukraine (even though he is injury prone and older/slower). But he didn't. I understand Rio being upset, but he gave Roy Hodgson the answer to Roy's question by saying he wouldn't play with JT.

Granted, the entire England team selection is a headache. Start Gerrard/Lampard who have never worked well together in central midfield, who to pick out of the maybe three qualified center forwards to start two tournament games for England with Rooney suspended, Rio/JT fiasco and how to keep the team happy...it's a headache.

Someone mentioned earlier that best case scenario England lose on PKs in QFinal round? I say the best case is getting back on the plane the morning of June 20 (day after final group game). They won't get out of the group. Sweden and France will.

Of course the racism thing is a major factor, but mark my words, Woy doesn't appreciate ball playing center backs. The brother of a guy he called a black **** is not the best central partnership to risk the Euros on. I think they just appointed him because they knew it was going to be a disaster. They can easily get rid of Woy when the people see how negative the team play.

My wish (I'm a mutt, italian, irish, german)...

A - Czech Republic or Greece. Does it really matter.
B - Germany!!!
C - Italy, but wouldn't mind Ireland getting lucky.
D - Anyone but the English or French. Both make me ill.

Germans take it all!

I like your picks. Only difference is I would pick Russia instead of Greece in group A.

This, except Holland instead of Portugal in Group B.

I was on the fence about the dutchies but I think Ronaldo is on fire and there are a bunch of good portuguese players in good form now. I think it is a matter of goal differential between the two with Portugal coming out ahead.... Either way I can't wait!
