Purdue 35, Notre Dame 31 -- I can't really figure out Purdue, but the Boilers have weapons on offense and Notre Dame's defense is nothing special. Plus, the Fighting Irish will be without standout wide receiver Michael Floyd, while Purdue's secondary gets healthier with the return of cornerback Brandon King. The Boilers' season gets wackier as Ralph Bolden runs wild in a fairly major upset.

Good! I'm glad fuckin espshit thinks we r gonna loose! What a bunch of fuckin kool-aid drinking haters!!! How do you honestly pick the team who is last place in the Big11 to defeat us!? It's insanity. The mental health of the writers at espshit are more than questionable. This guy must have been covering the NBA for too long.

Until they show that they truly can, that's where the "experts" opinions and pixels will fall. Sadly, sickeningly they may be right in their predictions on occasion. I'm sure that Weis is spending most of his time this week dealing with the offense: Floyd's absence and Jimmy's (possible) limitations. I just hope he takes some time to work a bit with Tenuta to iron out a wrinkle or two in the defensive scheme.

F them all. We just have to show up and play.

I'm gonna be there and I'm gonna have a blast walking out of the stadium at the end of the game.

In 2007, Purdue had an experienced quarterback (Painter), a fairly good running back (Sheets), some good receivers (Dorien Bryant, Greg Orton), and a stud tight end (Dustin Keller), and barely fought their way out of a loss (33-19), despite a 23-0 halftime lead. Evan Sharpley overthrew John Carlson in the end zone and got intercepted with roughly 4-5 minutes left in the game. All of this against the worst football team in Irish history, loaded with freshman and, hey, a pretty bad defense.

I'm not worried at all.

Keep in mind the guy on NBC hates us and almost always picks against ND.

And the ESPN pick that phork posted was from the Big Ten Blogger. The ND blogger picked us to win by 11

I was going to try and formulate some big, flowery retort about the above mentioned network, hopefully using some $100 words and making myself sound a little less stupid than I actually am... But you know what...

F*CK ESPN!!!

Ahhh, simple is better.

I'm not worried at all.

Have you not watched the Irish defense the past couple of games? PU has some offensive weapons and will score some points. The Irish better tighten the 'ol chinstraps because this has the making of another pins and needle ending! Especially with as many MAJOR offensive players the Irish have banged up or not playing .... Floyd, Allen, JC! Plus, EVERYONE gets a hard-on when they play the Irish and will be bringing their best to the table (so to speak)!

As a side note --> Damn I hate scUM .... those bastards!!!!!!

If I had them I'd send 6,000 v-bucks (F*CK + ESPN[=Entertainment and Sports Programming Network] X 100) and a bouquet of something-or-other your way.

All I know is Charlie is planning on our kids "playing their asses off"! I'm sorry, but that was a classic moment at the end of the MState game. I was laughing myself retarded.

Damn...slapped down by our own network...

I am concerned every time we take the field because we don't stop folks...but come on...we still have too many weapons to lose a track meet to purdue...they aren't really a mismatch...they have an ok running game...but we should be able to sqeeze it down...don't see purdue toasting us in the passing game...I know we have a tendency to make All Americans, but I just don't see it here...ND 34 Purdue 21

Until they do so, I'm inclined to agree... As much as that pains me to say, they've got to get better, and get better quick, or we're gonna lose more than we win this year.

You have to understand how the national media works. The "in" pick is to pick against the Irish since we haven't been very good the past couple of years. If Purdue wins, then they can all say what outstanding predictors they are. If the Irish wins, they will say it was just a lucky win against a weak opponent.

I SAY.....I don't care who picks who ....just WIN IRISH WIN....that is the only way to shut up the Mark "I hate the Irish" Mays of the world!

GOOOOOOOOOOO IRISH!

This was in today's (Maybe yesterday's) Observer - Vince was on ND sideline last weekend:

Celebrity Pick

Vince Vaughn, Actor & Irish Fan

I'm not much of a handicapper as far as predicting scores, but I'll definitely be rooting for the Irish against Purdue. I've got a lot of confidence in them; I think they've got great stuff ahead. I really like Coach Weis, I?think he's really a talented coach and genuine guy.

All other predictions picked ND - 3 over to 10 over.

To all the posters in this thread that said they aren't worried, all I have to say is LOL. What team have you been watching the last 3 years? On paper we should easily win this game, but this is played on the field where we always seem to be worried. Like the last 2 weeks.
