College Football: Ranking the top quarterback recruiting battles for the Class of 2012 - ESPN

First part focuses on Kiel. Hate to say it but I really doubt he ends up at Notre Dame. He doesn't sound like he is going to make up his mind quickly and I feel Mauk will commit before he makes any decision.

Mauk's lack of offers is so strange to me... I just don't see how he doesn't end up at ND with those other options.

If we get Mauk and not Kiel, I won't be too greatly displeased. A very good poster over on Rivals (Irish In Ontario) knows his recruiting biz and would take Mauk in a heartbeat. With the talent we already have on campus, I won't lose any sleep over not getting Kiel.

Either Kiel or Mauk would be a nice pick up for us this year. We are loaded at the QB position so in my opinion (and it is only that, my opinion), we only need to take one QB. Mauk would adapt better I think under Kelly's system than Kiel so either one would be fine with me. Both are outstanding QB prospects.

I would give up my little toe for Gunner to come to ND.

Mauk's attitude and upbringing are a concern for me. I think there is something to say about a guy that scUM fans do not want, regardless of talent.
