When you make millions a year, and a hotel hooks this perv up with information and a room so he can stalk her and video tape her... The damage she went through emotionally and also credibility wise... It seems like a fair number

It made her career, she was just a sideline reporter when it all happened. It made her a household name. She should pay them. People are crazy.

What credibility damage did she suffer?

It was wrong what they did, but 75 mil is not a fair number. I'm thinking a mil at best.

So her showing up in locker rooms when all these pro athletes know her as the naked chick from the hotel room.. you don't think that damaged her.. people were like.. yeah the naked girl.. lets give her the scoop

I am not trying to say that It didn't effect her emotionally because that probably made her very insecure and probably was uncomfortable where ever she went. And the staff should have never given out any info on her . 25 million is still a lot of money and still proves all the same points.

Someone sued Sketchers for their claim that their Shape up shoes actually help tone you as you walk... They won 40 million... So if that could win someone 40 million.. Why the hell wouldn't this be worth 75 ?

This happened like 6 years ago. I agree she should get damages (not $75 million), but isn't she a little late?

Unfortunately you are right it didn't bring negative attention to who she was. But her paying them is way off. The hotel staff member f-ed up and helped this tool.

Tells me their goal is to deter future incidents like this...

Considering the meteoric rise of her career in the years immediately following the incident, I would respectfully disagree.

Just because she is asking for that amount in damages, it doesn't mean that she will get rewarded that. Personally, she should get a healthy chunk of it though imo.

That was a rather ridiculous act by whoever filmed her. Nobody deserves to have that kind of nonsense happen to them. Whether it helped her career or not, that is irrelevant. If you do not understand that, you have problems.

So how exactly did the perv know what room she was in? I mean, I know that it appears that someone from the hotel told him, but how did that transpire? Did he pretend to be a relative looking for her, or did he ask a seemingly innocent question and accidentally get her room number in the answer? I'd have to hear more about the mistake(presumably) that the hotel made, before I could determine whether or not she was entitled to a dime, let alone multiple millions of dollars.

I think you're comparing apples and oranges. Sketchers publicly made a claim that their product did things in order to promote and sell shoes.

I don't care how it happened. If the staff gave up information of one of their guests, then they are guilty. I don't know how much that is worth, but it still puts them at fault. Things like this are the reason why this information is not to be given out. I understand that it is not the hotel's fault that there are crazy people in the world, but they still have the responsibility to safeguard theirs guests information.

What is the salary of the 'Dancing with the Stars' hosts? | Examiner.com

With this article it stated she was making $800,000 a year as a reporter/analyst prior to joining DWTS. It also states the Brooke Burke made $80,000 per episode on DWTS prior to Erin coming on. So say she makes ~$80,000 an episode like Brooke, there are roughly 10 episodes a season, and there are two seasons a year we can safely say that Erin is making ~$2.4 million a year. So yes, a sideline reporter is making millions a year.

I'm confused here, what does her salary have to do with this incident? She was a victim in all of this right? She will most likely be compensated. I understand 75 million is a lot of money, but again, the court will decide what damages occurred so there really is no need to harp on that figure amount.

Didn't the peephole also get removed and installed backwards so they could look (and film) into the room? I thought that was part of the story as well but I could be wrong. If so, who allowed that to occur?

Just looked it up, guess you can get a peephole reverser kit that does it for you without actually installing it in backwards.

She still had rights and they were obviously broken. Women have enough insecurities as it is in life with out this happening.

Depends on how much the hotel is worth/makes. It needs to be enough to hurt, not enough to crush.

In general, and based on my own experience, these numbers generally start very high but the party is usually shooting for a more reasonable out of court settlement.

That's my point. She was the victim. Turning this into an argument that plays into the type of thinking that it bolstered here career is obscene and insane. She didn't deserve to have this happen to her, and saying that it benefit her is ridiculous. This is obviously not something she wants to be known for, nor did she try to use it to exploit herself in anyway.

What she currently earns shouldn't and won't have any bearing on this lawsuit. Should the hotel get smacked around for this? Yes sir. Should she get 75 mil? I think that's too high, but I'm not the judge. Most hotels are independently owned, so even an award of 1 mil will get noticed and the pain felt My guess is she'll end up with about a 3.5 mil judgement.

That is definitely my line of thinking here.
