In reference to that Connor_In posted, they point to the fact that there hasn't been significant warming in the last 15 years, 1998 was one of the hottest years on record. The coldest years since then have been hotter than the hottest years before then. 12 of warmest years on record have come in the last 13 years.

For a football analogy (this is a football blog, after all), the Post article's message would be like saying "the NFL hasn't become a passing league, Dan Marino's yardage record stood from 1984-2011". Both would be wrong.

I hates with a passion those damnable rodents! In the fall I see them digging holes in my yard to bury pieces of bread, tortillas or late season cherry tomatoes. NONE OF THESE THINGS WILL SURVIVE A MINNESOTA WINTER BURIED IN THE SHALLOW FREEZE–THAW ZONE!!!!

In the spring they dig multiple holes in a vain search for their no-longer-existent stash. I talk to them calmly and quietly, explaining that it's folly. I distribute pamphlets to them. I yell at them in my most bellicose Old Fart GET OUT OF MY YARD voice. All to no avail. I asked Neutered for help, but the "gifties" he dropped in my yard only attracted and emboldened them.

The little shits gnawed at and ripped up this and that to build their nests. They chewed their way into my attic through the eaves and walls. Some died and mummified there in the comfort of the insulation. That they are a "protected species" here pisses me off no end.

Mother Earth is a resilient dame. For some reason I think she'll come up with a plan. After Mt. St. Helena erupted scientist said it would be century's before anything grew in the area. We know how that turned out.
