DOWNTOWN Indianapolis Bars

Hey...looking for some help from the Indy faithful.

Are there any bars within a decent walking distance of Lucas Oil that are like a Brothers bar? Looking for something that younger and older people can enjoy.

I have worked in Indy for two summers. The best bars downtown are on Mass Ave. Overall there are a lot of good bars in the downtown Indy Area though

There are a couple fairly close but most would be decent but doable walk as long as it isn't too cold

Ram
Claddagh

These are a few that are fairly close.

Champs is in the Circle Center mall and is within walking distance.

Rock Bottom is across the street from Champs.

The Colts restaurant and bar is across from Champs.

Don't know if you've been to downtown Indy before, but most of downtown is connected by skywalks and as mentioned there are quite a few bars downtown.

Are these recommendations close (walking distance) from the JW Marriott? Have to be in Indy this weekend for my daughters travel volleyball team tourney. Some of the dads will want to have some pops.

Im looking for a place decently close to Lucas Oil. Maybe with a patio, ability to setup at tent if at all possible. haha.

So are you looking for a bar that allows you to set up a tent on the patio outside the bar?

Kilroy's is about 4-5 blocks and has a back patio. Whether they let you set up a tent or not is a whole other topic.

Kilroy's, Tin Roof, or Claddagh. Kilroy's will be the most similar to a place like Brother's.

Ike and Jonesy's isn't too far from Lucas Oil. Nice place if you like to dance with the ladies.

Slipper Noodle is more laid back, usually have some live Jazz bands playing.

The Ugly Monkey has more of a hip hop feel (sometimes a bit thugish on the dance floor side) but is also pretty close.

Georgia Street has a nice little strip of bars and restaurants.

Red Garter too, if you have a few extra dollar bills you'd like to tuck away.

They are only a couple of blocks away, straight east on Washington Street. Washington Street is the main E/W thorough fare. The Artsgarden (big glass structure) sits over the top of Washington and Illinois Streets and connects the mall to other buildings. The bars I mentioned are right there. Some of the others mentioned are on Georgia Street which is a block south of Washington Street.

Most are a 10 minute walk straight east; but for a hotel bar the JW itself isn't bad.
