ESPN doing a 180 with BYU getting waxed and now it’s Miami in over ND. 🤣

Are we definitely in if Alabama loses?
No, but then the door is open for any of:

- Alabama dropping behind us
- Alabama stays put but so does BYU, providing a buffer between us and Miami
- Alabama stays put, BYU drops, but we still stay above Miami because we were just ahead of them and no new information has been gained to jump them ahead of us.

All would have to go wrong for us to miss. Which is possible, but unlikely. Feels like we’d have like a 90% chance of making playoffs.

I really think Bama would drop behind us. Committee bumped Bama up last week to this reason. If there was no concern about them dropping with a loss, they wouldn’t have.

Are we positive Georgia doesn’t move up to 2 if they beat the brakes off Bama? Assuming Ohio State beats IU that is and if it’s not a nail biter.

So someone help explain this to me....how would it be fair to have a 3 loss Alabama team over a 2 loss ND/Miami.

If Alabama loses they should be bounced and then the drama is over. They just want the SEC to win.

The argument would be (NOT THAT IM ENDORSING IT) that Alabama shouldn’t be punished for losing a CCG against the number 2 team in the country (which Georgia will be at the end of the day if it wins) when neither Miami nor ND played in a CCG at all, and that Alabama’s overall body work remains (because it’s currently ranked ahead of us) better.

I disagreed with the committee’s decision to rank them above us and Miami, but if this games close I will at least understand the above.

You can move down for not playing but you're good if you lose in the CCG and your name is Alabama??? Got it.

Basically we really want Georgia to step on

Yes, the committee is pretty clear that CCGs are treated differently than the regular season.

Big downside to us being independent.
