As far as conference talk and the conspirators that believe the theory that IF Duke wins the ACC and the ACC is now left out of the CFP, it then puts pressure on the committee to put Miami in, so the ACC is not left out. For those people, just remember that this is the same committee that left out an UNDEFEATED, 13-0 ACC champion in Florida State years ago. TBH, I believe the committee feels that the ACC is complete dogshit; especially since a 7-5 Duke team made their conference championship.

I thought conference champs were auto bids? If Duke wins why would they be left out?

Sorry if I sound like an idiot. I try to follow along, but I confuse easily.

Our best argument is the 93 FSU NC screw job and the fact that we will be only one of two teams on a ten game winning streak. Add to that double digit wins in all cases. We haven’t been really tested except for a moment against usc. Double digit points have also been routinely left on the field as well. Add to which we haven’t played our second and third stringers for over a quarter is several games while Miami has been passing long with starters to the bitter end gunning for style points. Hope we have an advocate on the committee as eloquent about this as I am!
Our best argument? Pick any of the following:

- Notre Dame’s losses came the first two weeks of the season and Notre Dame has looked dominant since. Miami’s losses were more recent and, in general, they’ve struggled more than we have to pull away from their opponents.
- Miami lost to two 2 unranked teams, where Notre Dame lost to two top 15 teams.
- Notre Dame would be favored against Miami, as well as Alabama, Oklahoma, etc. The guys who know these teams the best (Vegas modelers) know we are a top-5 team.
- Conference champions typically aren’t punished so BYU should stay in between Notre Dame and Miami if they lose.
- ND has been above Miami in every CFP poll this season, including the most recent, and no additional knowledge will be gained this season that would suddenly put Miami above ND.
- Miami’s H2H over Notre Dame has already been taken into account. It’s one of the main reason why they’re in a position to make playoffs.
- So ND > BYU > Miami, but if BYU drops out, then suddenly Miami > ND? That’s not how it works. It directly contradicts the first.
- H2H is often used as a tiebreaker, but even if BYU slides down and you have 10 ND, 11 Miami… that doesn’t necessarily mean their valuation is a tie.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Miami’s argument often boils down to “Hurr durr but we won the game!” and trivial 4-7 pt differences in margin of victory because they don’t have much else to hang their hat on when compared to us.

Yes. Direct H2H wins matter. Theirs has been considered and it’s boosted them significantly. But it’s not the only thing.

That said, I can’t trust the committee to get this right. Hopefully they do.

Well those are pretty good too but if BYU loses no way they don’t drop behind Miami and should imo.

I still like the 1993 FSU argument where we feel we got F’d but we had the most recent loss to a lesser team like BC and FSU lost to us.

Hot caffeine good? Cold bad?
It's the opposite. In the "Word of Wisdom" I believe it's called, "hot drink" is forbidden. That has been taken to mean hot beverages such as coffee and black tea (even cold brew coffee is an iffy area from what I can tell), but soda is fine. "Swig," a sort of neo soda parlor is a Mormon owned business and really big out here. Mormons are also noted for their love of Diet Coke because cold caffeine is fine, but the same text that prohibits "hot drink" also encourages Mormons to eat healthy and maintain their physical health so they drink diet soda to not get fat.

It's the highest raked top 5 conferences, I believe. So surprisingly there will most likely be 5(prob 6) other conference champions ranked higher.(SEC/Big12/Big10/Sun Belt/American/Mountain West).

There's only one reason the whole world is screaming for us to be left out: THEY ARE AFRAID.
There are others reasons, but I think thats part of it. This isn't your same Ole ND anymore. We are one of the favorites to win as it is, but would be just behind OSU in odds if we were top 4 with a bye.

Eville is going to be pleasantly excited to announce that our odds to make the playoffs and to win the NC have both slipped further this morning. Cant wait til he wakes up and starts giving the updates every 15 mins. Going to be a long day

The rules changed to allow cold caffeine after the church took a yuuuge stake in Coca-Cola years ago.
They've since divested, for other ethical reasons.
The love of sugar remains.

+925 parlay to have Miami and James Madison make it seems like easy money right now

It seems like they're going about this the wrong way. I'd make a rule that excludes conference teams that fail to win their conference, because they have proven that they aren't the best team in their region, let alone the country. Keep it to 6 teams, no autobids.

I’m not a big conspiracy guy, but has anyone else noticed that ESPN has been replaying the ND-Miami game a lot in the past 24 hours. It was on last night when I went to bed and it’s on again this morning. ESPN hardly ever shows replays of ND games.

This is actual ESPN and not the ACCN? What in the hell?

Teams can't move up by losing.
Normally, I’d agree with this, but I think people keep not taking the committee at their word that they start with a blank slate each week and people keep getting surprised because of that.

And, I don’t know, when you stack our resume up against BYUs resume in a world where they play this one really close (let’s call it double OT)….i think they’re exceptionally close.
