I don't understand this. Why was the price so high? Are the dodgers really worth that much? I remember reading about values of MLB teams and for sure, the Yanks could pull $2 Billion and probably much more. But the Dodgers?

I'm a Cubs fan, and Tom Ricketts bought the team a few years ago for something like $850 million. Hard to imagine that the Dodgers are worth more than a billion more than the Cubs, who are a cash cow unto themselves.

Just found out who bought the dodgers. Can't say I'm surprised given his shady history of understanding the worth of the dollar.

You're not just buying the team. They bought the team, surrounding land, I believe a network or part of one, had to buy all the debt as well.
