Either we're all crazy or people just don't understand our love for the school and the team. I canceled plans to go up to the mountains with my friends on September 1st, because it's the Navy game obviously, I would not miss it for the world. Being 17, my parents still have authority over me, so since I'm not going up to the mountains, I have to go to my Uncle's wedding on the 1st...Thank god the game is at 6am here, and my Dad's a big fan as well.

And another thing. That is why the schedules come out a year in advance. My calender is booked when that comes out.

I made my infant child cry multiple times last year during games. Apparently babies don't like screaming and yelling..... BTW he was born at Memorial Hospital in South Bend between the USF and MI games last season.

im hoping this fall to convert my fiance to being an ND fan. She doesnt care for football much but likes ND because she knows Im happy when they win. If she doesnt share my love for the irish though I'm fine with that because she does share my love of comics, big bang theory, and the office so ya know its not all bad if she isnt a fan like me. right fellas? :)

I laugh sometimes because had I not broken those coffee tables, I'd probably have enough money to actually fly to Ireland and watch the damn game there!!! LOL

Collateral damage.

My wife REFUSES to buy our THIRD coffee table for the den.

Last year during the season a folding chair, 3 directv remotes, my two middle toes on my left foot, and my bottom lip all suffered some type of damage. I have learned to drink my wine BEFORE kick off.

For all the young bucks on here that have girlfriends instead of wives...choose wisely. Make sure she knows who you are on Saturdays up front. I have a great buddy of mine that's a UT alum and fan and hasn't seen a damn game in about 3 years (since he's been married). She doesn't allow it because he acted a fool one day while we all watched the Red River shootout. Poor bastard has to sneak off and meet us for "lunch" every once in a while on Saturday.

...

Yeah, but these types of chicks get away with their tyranny because they're usually smokin' hot. Gotta take the bitter with the sweet. Some guys would rather watch something else in tight pants on the weekend.

No woman, no matter the hotness is worth losing ones manhood over.

Also no one schedule a wedding during ND/USC at home. 05 my friend and neighbor their wedding and we lost, 09 my friend got married and i was in it we lost, last year my cousin got married and we lost. I told my fiance that whenever things get better and we set a date it will be before football season so we dont even run into that problem

I am the same way. I hate to DVR the games, it's not the same and luckily my wife is the same. She actually loves ND football as much if not more than I do. However, we have kids now and our daughter has Saturday soccer games so every once in a while her game conflicts with a ND game and my little girl has to come 1st. But anything else is 2nd!

Everyone who knows me knows not to expect me to do anything on gamedays. My wife and kids are going camping the navy weekend. I may join them later saturday. Maybe. Years back some lawn furniture got ruined after a loss to michigan. Work never gets in the way. My boss knows better. I will miss my kids sporting events if ND is on. I got a problem. I consider it a great problem. It sucks to let 18-22 year old kids determine how I feel all week during the season.

So heres a story. My brother was born in 1988, yup that year and my mom was in labor the night of September 10th when ND was playing Michigan! My dad being the super fan he is, was telling my mom to hang on a little longer for the game to finish! My mom had all of my siblings and me at home so my sisters were holding my moms hand and supporting and she made it to the 11th! ND won! My older brother came out! Good all around :) Though Sept 11th is a interesting birthday date.
