Watching his presser right now. He is so passionate. He's gonna do great. Love that guy.

How did I not know about Diaco's wife? Supposedly she is a bombshell.

Cant find pics though.

Fitting UCONN has a Dunkin Donuts sponsor. That's his only hope.

Well, it seems he is with her since college. She obviously did not aged as well as he did.

I wish him well, but UConn is not the place for it. UConn is where you go if you are Paul Pasquiloni.

Yeah. That's what I'm afraid of. Watching that press conference today I really want him to do well, I'll actually be rooting for UConn. But that's a tough place to succeed at. It's a basketball school and always will be. And it's got no local talent base - and fighting BC, Penn State, Syracuse and national programs for what little talent is there.
Kind of wish he'd held out another year for Iowa or Maryland or even Rutgers. They're all better jobs.

I'll root for him...unless he takes Elston...which costs us recruits/ Tuitt.

Question: Was Diaco recruiting this year? It seems like a lot of the recruits did not know him and it may sound like it will affect us very little.

Makes sense.

Dudes have got more important things on their plate right now. I'm sure they'd both love to be there, but there are more urgent matters at hand.

A little bit but not as much. someone had posted in another thread that he really didn't enjoy it. I guess as HC he better learn to enjoy it!

They've had as many players drafted as we have since 2009. They went to a BCS game where they put up a better fight than we did and they also have a bowl win over South Carolina in that time frame.

And need I remind you they beat us in South Bend the last time we played.

I'm glad he did that. He didn't have to, and frankly, most assistants that leave don't. Bob is a good dude. I wish him luck.

So that tells you the state of our program at the time. I stand by what I said, UConn is a dead end job.

It's not the best place in the world, but it is a BCS conference. It is also a conference that will be easy to improve and compete in. If he can show quick and sustained improvement for the next 2-3 years, he will have another HC job at a more prominent school by 2017.

No such thing as a BCS conference anymore. They've got no shot at a championship because of their pathetic conference.

Yeah. And if there still were a BCS, at this point it'd be a stretch for an AQ berth.
But it is a conference where a good coach can win 9 or 10 games for a couple of years and move on up. Or less if you're Randy Edsall.

Dead end? As in you can't move on from there? I'm really unclear by what you mean by dead end job.

It means you are setup to fail. Which doesn't translate into future opportunities. Besides Edsall name me one coach that went anywhere from there, and Edsall is a stretch.

time will tell, But I think Diaco will do very well there. Its not a place where you have to win a zillion games. he'll have some work to do but he'll get a couple of conference titles and double digit win seasons and be on to the next one.

I went to the coaching clinic a couple of years ago and diaco is definitely a superstar, kids love him, parents love him. dudes gonna do great.
