So who is the "third" deepest team they played? (Washington? Maryland? Nebraska?)

I also think it's interesting that they really only played 1 team this year with "winning culture". While ND had Army, Navy (at the time) Louisville (at the time), GT, TAMU etc

Teams that actually, try. IUs opponents literally look like a schedule of losers lol.

Their conference schedule was mostly composed of the lower half of the B1G but they outscored opponents 360-152 in conference play. They weren't squeaking past these teams.

IU got a bunch of credit for beating Michigan. They put up 20 points against a pretty good defense. But UM's offense is garbage, which is why they lost so many games.

If IU gets to 20 points against ND, they can't also rely on their defense shutting down ND's offense...which is the second most talented offense they played and arguably the best overall considering how awful Ryan Day and Chip Kelly have been this year at times.

I submitted my lottery application two weeks ago and won't have my results until today or tomorrow. At the time I submitted the application, I didn't know for sure whether we'd even be in one of these games, and if we were what the date and time were going to be.

Believe it or not, getting from Hartford, Connecticut to South Bend, Indiana with one week's notice for a game the Friday night before Christmas is not exactly easy. There might *literally* not be any flights to be had by the time I get confirmation of my lottery success or failure. Or maybe my childcare will fall through because people are busy with Christmas prep that weekend. It's not just a train from Chicago for a lot of people, it's one flight and then a connecting flight and then a rental car and then three nights in a hotel.

So I might have 8 Lower Sideline tickets that I'm unable to use. I would love to sell them to Notre Dame fans only but it's just about impossible to sell tickets outside of the "official" resale sites because everyone assumes you're a scammer. There aren't a lot of good options.
I’d reach out to the ND club of Chicago or another club driving distance to SB (I’m guessing South Bend/Michiana also has one?) about selling them to their members.

Lets say IU and USC qb talent is "similar" (which is bold because it doesnt seem Rourke can throw off platform which is how ND got hurt some).
Surely IUs WRs are not size/speed/talent wise as legit, correct?

Not at all. I've been following IU a lot this year, and it's a really great offensive scheme. They make good contested catches, but I credit the coaches. Luckily we have Al Golden. The USC receivers are clearly better.

Correct. The will need to put together long drives to score. If ND can score in the 30s this is probably a comfortable win.

That is their scheme; they attack the middle of the field. As for putting together long drives to score Rourke is completing more than 70% of his passes.

Fortunately, ND's defense is very strong up the middle and a terrible matchup for IU.

That’s what I don’t get, if you have season tickets/alum, you have some type of means. You don’t need to sell your tickets as you have money already. Why the hell have season tickets if you aren’t going to the first home playoff game in the history of the sport?

Our family has had season tickets since the 70’s and we’ve never once sold out even as a middle class family with some tough years mixed in. We’re trying to do our part by putting in 8 additional for the lottery to get our die hard ND friends in
Very thoughtful for you to think of me.

And we have that one young man that loves playing the middle of the field.

Speed wise? SC has the advantage but IU two leading WR (Sarrat & Cooper) are big bodied guys w/ good hands. They go up and win 1-on-1 battles.

IU’s QB is 6’5” & while he’s not as nimble as a lot of the QBs ND faced this season, he can still run a little. But his arm is what he beats people with.

I, sadly, haven't been to South Bend for a game in about 6 years. I'm sure a lot has changed up there with all the construction they've done. Can someone help with parking tips, eating tips, etc? I'll have one car, three people (one of which is a 10 year old). We don't have a tailgate to go to, and we aren't sure how much site seeing we want to take the 10 year old on in 20-30 degree weather.

I saw this too and I just flat out didn't believe it. I looked it up and they only gave up 115 to Ohio State and 69 to Michigan. Are they actually good?
I am just catching up, so apologies if this has been covered by Ohio State's running game is not that great this year. Michigan's is though. So, I still don't know what to make of this.

Michigan’s run offense is statistically worse than pOSU.

I think Michigan's run game is getting too much credit for, 1. Who there were last year and 2. They never threw the ball on the TD drive to come back and beat USC at home earlier in the season.

This new information is making me feel better. Confident almost. It's an odd sensation.

Still under 1000 tickets, probably close to 500, available on SeatGeek. This will be a tough ticket not only because of the price but the lack of volume. 178 listings for Notre Dame compared to 1381 for Ohio State, 2809 for Penn State, and 528 for Texas.

Our lottery still hasn't happened. Very few people who WILL have tickets even know it yet.
