So.. at 3 years old this child couldn't sleep, rather than consult a Doctor - the daycare one day just decided a different gender of said child, and this PARENT just said oh OK. The "daycare" told them this. Does that sum this up ?
It does, but a quick Google search shows it's quite real. Happened recently in Rhode Island and the mom won, thankfully. This sounds like a complete bullshit story.
Seems pretty credible. This sounds like a complete bullshit story.
Oh I see. I misread. After reading about the case it is clear that she does misrepresent what happened. So yeah, McCarthy doing his usual grandstanding bullshit. It does, but a quick Google search shows it's quite real. Happened recently in Rhode Island and the mom won, thankfully.
And it all could have been avoided if the SB had simply provided her with a copy as requested rather than pushing back and forcing her to file the FOI requests. I have no doubt she requested more simply as a way to fight fire with fire. While she may not have been very active, one could applaud her for finally becoming more active. After all, everyone that becomes active in something starts with little or no involvement in the beginning.Oh I see. I misread. She and the school board were both sued by the same organization representing the Teachers. That being the case it makes sense that the Board would put that on the agenda of a school board meeting and discuss it.
Particularly if some asshole who apparently wasn’t very active by their own admission starts making “hundreds” of FOI requests, for fucking hard copies.
From the Rhode Island Journal
“Solas says the department timely complied with her requests as the law required but then was about to charge her $9,570 for the time it took to collect the information. She says the price was dropped to $79.50 after she narrowed her request and asked for digital copies instead of hard copies of documents.”
Per a statement released by the Union
“Given the circumstances of the requests,” the lawsuit states, “it is likely that any teachers who are identifiable and have engaged in discussions about things like critical race theory will then be the subject of teacher harassment by national conservative groups opposed to critical race theory.” That seems like a legitimate concern for the Union to bring up given the current environment.
Also per a NY Post article
“The lawsuit filed Monday in Bristol County Superior Court requests that a judge block the release of “non-public records”. The suit was asking a judge for “a balancing test that properly assesses the public interest in the records at issue measured against the teacher’s individual privacy rights.”
Apparently she was also asking for emails involving union reps communications. That being the case the Union suing to stop that is not surprising at all. She was also making requests such as “all emails containing the word ‘race’” and about the cost of a
“racial equity audit and [the] … reconciliation budget costs incurred by the district for any additional anti-racist or equity-related professional development, [and] district and school committee communications, including all emails and memos that mentioned critical race theory."
I’m pretty skeptical that such language was generated by some run of the mill concerned parent.
The big “win” for this lady, who was represented pro bono by the right wing Goldwater Institute? A judge ordered the school district to “provide Plaintiff with copies of the responsive records forthwith and at no cost to Plaintiff” and it was the school district that chose to settle the case.
This sounds more like some conservative busy body with too much time and money stirring up shit more than anything else and is another classic example of algorithms pushing stupid shit to ones feed that will keep them outraged and engaged.
Again, she initially made over 200 requests that would have involved thousands of hard copies. That’s dumb as shit and would have been a monumental waste of time and pushing back on something that stupid is pretty reasonable. And it all could have been avoided if the SB had simply provided her with a copy as requested rather than pushing back and forcing her to file the FOI requests. I have no doubt she requested more simply as a way to fight fire with fire. While she may not have been very active, one could applaud her for finally becoming more active. That's a lot of words to avoid saying, "The teachers were pushing radical far left BS and didn't want the parents to know what was being taught to their 5-year-olds." Regardless of your political beliefs, the parents of kids have every right to know what's being taught to their children. Most parents don't want the kids indoctrinated with ANY radical, politicized agenda, regardless of whether it's left or right. That's a huge part of the problem with the educational system in the US now and why American students have fallen behind most other kids: a constant push to indoctrinate and teach kids WHAT to think instead of factual education and HOW to think.Oh I see. I misread. After reading about the case it is clear that she does misrepresent what happened. So yeah, McCarthy doing his usual grandstanding bullshit.

It’s not that many words providing a broader context. That should be the norm as opposed to stupid 30 second videos with no context but hey, you do you. That's a lot of words to avoid saying, "The teachers were pushing radical far left BS and didn't want the parents to know what was being taught to their 5-year-olds." What you call context, anyone but a sheep would call spin. Talking about race is radical? No, but pushing a slanted, misinformed, politically driven version of it is, and their gender BS is very radical and totally inappropriate for kindergarteners. Normal parents are sick of the radical, left BS in schools. Teach kids academics, not politicized nonsense and woke BS, and stop trying to hide the leftist agenda from the parents. It’s not that many words providing a broader context. Talking about race/racism is radical. Sure. Ok.
Kind of like people who deny the Republican Southern Strategy ever existed? What you call context, anyone but a sheep would call spin. Talking about race is radical? 6 and it's not even close lol
Easy decision. I'm changing flights!
I thought about that, but the last time I was in a window seat my broad shoulders were scrunched against the side of the plane, and my head was tilted to the side because I'm tall. I pretty much require an aisle seat. For that reason I feel like I'm stuck in #4, but I'm not sure who is in that middle seat.8 is a pretty clear winner for me. Window seat + Alex Jones is probably going to be talking across the aisle and I will be left in peace

Bishop better watch it.
Paris public prosecutor's office told news agency AFP on Wednesday that they had launched a cyberbullying probe, following a complaint by Khelif.
However, a prominent French legal blogger wrote on X that it is unlikely Mr Musk or Ms Rowling would face prosecution, as French penal law doesn’t apply to acts committed outside of France against foreign nationals.
But prosecutors could press charges against those who sent messages on French soil.
I'm sure nothing will come of it. Just thought it was funny.Doesn't sound like anything will come of it unless Rowling and Elon were in Paris when they tweeted those messages. From BBC:
Couldn't find the actual comments they made, sounds like Elon only retweeted something Riley Gaines said that men shouldn't be fighting women. Gonna be hard to prosecute the truth.
