Interesting statistic. It may help explain why 56% of homicides are committed by African Americans despite being just 13.6% of the population. For reference, 64% of African American children grow up in single family homes vs. 24% for Caucasian kids. Future generations need their fathers.
This is why I've always hated how pervasive and almost championed the term baby momma has become. Single mothers are incredible. As a parent of an 18 month old I can't even fathom trying to raise a child alone, but single motherhood should be something that's pitied not cheered on. Yaaaas queen! You don't need no man! Yes, yes you absolutely do and so does that kid. If a guy isn't serious enough about you to be faithful to you and get married to you he sure as shit isn't serious enough for you to have a kid with.I’ve visited a medium security prison multiple times. The fatherless crisis is real. Single moms do their best but boys need a male role model. If they can’t get it at home, they find it on the streets. Most incarcerated never knew their fathers. The ones who did were abused by them. The 1st question we ask them is “how many were raised by their father?” Nary a hand goes up. Then they overly bond w/ mom. She’s doing her damndest to hold everything together. She can only do so much. The young man grows up to find a girlfriend. She’s independent & confident. She speaks up. He smacks her while telling her “nobody talks to me like that…except my mom…and you ain’t her”. You’re out of your fucking mind if you don’t think a kid stands a better chance being raised by both a female & male role model. Divorced? Ok…but you can still raise your kid. Dad deceased? Imagine the positive influence of a grandfather, an uncle, a step-dad?

Amen. You just want to look at these girls/women who have a baby with one of those guys (or several babies with several of those guys) and scream at them, "WTF are you doing having sex with some irresponsible knucklehead who can't afford a condom and who is absolutely NOT going to help support and raise any kid you have???"This is why I've always hated how pervasive and almost championed the term baby momma has become. It’s truly headscratching…….and until that cycle is broken, society will just continue to churn out the same.Amen. Now swap the guy who grows up without a father with the girl that grows up without a father. I wouldn’t be surprised if statistics showed many of them having babies out of wedlock grew up without a father and this is their subconscious way of substituting some guy for their fathers attention.Amen. Absolutely! Also, a big part of that same issue is that girls who grow up without a father around are MUCH more likely to have problems with men later in life and have a much lower rate of successful romantic relationships with men. They grow up without experiencing what men are about, how they think, what our sense of humor is, and how we react to stuff. They don't get the experience of interacting with a man that daughters get with their dad. I hate to say this, but I've never met a woman who had a bad relationship or no relationship with her dad, who was capable of having a normal, healthy, successful relationship with a man. Not one. Maybe such women exist, but I've never known one.Now swap the guy who grows up without a father with the girl that grows up without a father. Riley Gaines gave a talk at San Francisco State University on why males participating in women's sports isn't fair to biologically born females. Evidently a Trans hit her and they continued to harass her to the point police had to be called to get her escorted safely out of the school. The video is her trying to get out of the classroom.

I didn't see your post until after I posted. Might have been better for me to get caught up in all the threads then post.I posted about that last night too, I should have put it here though instead of the Politics thread. There's some more video in the Daily Mail article and snippets. Apparently the protesters were trying to extort them for money so they could "make it out of the building in one piece." Then of course an administrator from the school praised the protesters for being "peaceful" among other things.

Riley Gaines slams statement from SF State PRAISING students
Gaines, 23, was forced to barricade inside a room for three hours at the San Francisco State University campus last night after a group of activists ambushed her. The school claimed it was 'peaceful.'www.dailymail.co.uk
Na, it would have been better for me to put it in the right thread to start with lol.I didn't see your post until after I posted. Might have been better for me to get caught up in all the threads then post.
I saw that earlier today. Authorities are trying to sweep it under the rug as a prank or light-hearted suggestion I guess, but sorry...it was too far even to suggest that. If the Pope did something similar they'd call for his head.I think I'm going to be sick.

The Dalai Lama has apologized after a video emerged showing the spiritual leader kissing a child on the lips and then asking him to "suck my tongue" at an event in northern India.www.cnn.com
What the fuck is up with little boys being religious leaders Spanish fly? Never hear about them going after little girls, or grabbing the ass of some hot mom that comes up to hand out communion. These days your children are more likely to get abused by a teacher than a religious official, but yeah...sad that it still happens all the same. What the fuck is up with little boys being religious leaders Spanish fly? Why should a man who wears women’s clothing be excluded from reading books to kids?If drag queens disrupted a reading out of dress, hair and makeup then I wouldn't consider it grooming. Neither should be disrupting the other. Protest outside. I will say that I don't agree with LGBTQ's teaching kids their choices when they're young. Yet, if a kid asks a question, answer it and leave it at that. They can figure it out for themselves when they're older.
Would you not consider bodily mutilation a mental illness? I’m not talking about pronouns or identifying as feminine but bodily mutilation and not loving yourself has to be able to be discussed as a mental illness.Yes, by them calling it a mental illness they have an issue with their existence (your original question to me).
There's plenty of elective surgeries that are performed without pushback. Hysterectomies are the second most common surgery for women in the US, I'm waiting for those to get outlawed so we can make sure the intellectual scorekeepers can maintain their perfect score. Or mastectomies? Should get rid of these too. Circumcisions should be outlawed as well. Messi had to go on hormone therapy as a kid, that's "unnatural" should he have been shamed for taking it? He could have had a normal life but took it to improve his quality of life. Boob jobs shouldn't even be allowed to performed under any circumstances, nose jobs nope, hair removal nah, hair treatments no way. Plenty of surgeries are done cosmetically to improve a persons quality of life.Would you not consider bodily mutilation a mental illness? I would say a kid needs two parents period whether that’s genetic parents or not. They need 2 adults who love them and are looking out for their best interest. That seems to be backed by all the studies I have read or seen reported on the matter. Whether it’s a man and woman, 2 men, or 2 women. A single parent whether a man or woman can’t handle all the responsibilities of being a parent alone.I’ve visited a medium security prison multiple times. The fatherless crisis is real. First, Typically a hysterectomy is not an elective surgery but needed as the treatment for a medical problem. Second, I never said reassignment surgery should be outlawed any where just that there should be discussion about it. Third, most elective surgeries are done to treat some serious mental condition that is driving a person into a depression and all other treatments should be tried before hand. Last, I have no personal problem with cosmetic surgeries if people want to do it, have at it, but don’t act like it’s not a medical mental condition to hate a part of your body with such disdain that you need to cut yourself and go through agonizing pain just because societal norms have taught that to you. There's plenty of elective surgeries that are performed without pushback. Right, but what discussion needs to be had? If someone wants to get something done to improve their quality of life then why does it require non-medical professionals to put their 0.02 in? Who cares what I have to say, if a consenting person and their doctor think it's in their best interest then why shouldn't they do it?First, Typically a hysterectomy is not an elective surgery but needed as the treatment for a medical problem. Let me again end this with once again reiterating no where did I say something should be deemed illegal. Just that it should be aloud to be diss cussed without over reaction or being labeled anti-transgender or transphobic. I would also question all the other elective surgeries including circumcision, but with that there has been medical documentation that it is a preventative treatment for cancer though I do jot know how valid that is.
It's different between being left alone and some people seeing an agenda thrown in their face for, as you even stated, a very small percentage of the population. This is what I mean by a discussion by the way between people trying to understand differences of opinions and ideas.Right, but what discussion needs to be had? If someone wants to get something done to improve their quality of life then why does it require non-medical professionals to put their 0.02 in? Nowhere did I say gender dysphoria is not real. Part of the APA proposed treatments there are medical procedures that people can go through to help treat that. Yeah societal norms that have strict binary coding on masculine/feminine are pushing people towards undergoing surgery/treatment, if people were more easing going you wouldn't have people going through medical transitions and they could just live their life. But, as we know that's not possible so they feel the need to get the surgeries to "pass". Allowing people to transition is a preventative procedure as many who suffer from gender dysphoria do commit suicide at higher rates than others.
People get labeled as transphobic because typically there isn't an issue with other elective surgeries that don't impact their life, and that a fraction of the population undergoes these surgeries in comparison to other elective surgeries. For a community that is constantly shit on and having to prove that they are allowed to belong, in my opinion I don't see why they can't just be left alone.
I wonder if those that believe elective gender affirming surgeries are wrong, carry the same smoke for overweight people getting liposuction surgeries done? If someone's got a number in front of their XL I don't think they shouldn't be allowed to get a surgery to help their image.
The pro-trans agenda pales in comparison to the anti-trans rhetoric. Full stop. It's simply just a made up issue like the satanic panic or how video games and music are behind violent crimes. If we're talking about brands trying to be more "friendly" I don't take that as anything more than a marketing campaign to increase profits. They are in the business of making money and not friends. It's different between being left alone and some people seeing an agenda thrown in their face for, as you even stated, a very small percentage of the population. This is what I mean by a discussion by the way between people trying to understand differences of opinions and ideas.
I would never say anyone needs my permission or should ask my opinion to get anything they want done to their own body. I would discourage any of my loved ones from getting any elective surgery to change their body and yes that would include liposuction, breast augmentation, botox, or any other elective surgery, thats if they came to me to talk about it. I would also still love them unconditionally if they did it any way. I would try to convince them that unless they are suicidal and see no hope at all that they are only fixing a superficial ideal and not actually working on the issue which is self love that we are all entitled to. That society has told them they don't meet some superficial standard and that they need to work on not listening to society and love each and every imperfection and then show others that love. Again let me state I am not for banning anything, telling anyone else what to do with their bodies, or shaming them for doing those things.
I am for open full discussion on societal impacts if those same people want to then make it a political argument which does effect me.
Does every politician that wants to run on an anti-war platform have to then go to LGBTQ rallies or pander to a small minority when talking about healthcare for all which would be for all people to begin with and cover all surgeries deemed necessary by a physician? Will that same politician be attacked if a war hawk who wants to continue bombing 7 countries is more strident and out spoken on LGBTQ rights even though its just lip service. Thats my issue with this debate right now. If I talk to the average person no one really cares what anyone does with their own bodies as long as you aren't out there telling everyone else they have to change to meet your standard. Of course there are the ones that do attack and murder, but that isnt going to stop by shoving an agenda down people's throats. Haters are gonna hate, we have to give them a reason not to attack or kill and you only do that through a society that makes sure all of its people have what they need to succeed in life. Once that is accomplished you won't have the bigotry or the hate and hopefully you wouldn't have people wanting to mutilate themselves either. If that isn't ever accomplished we will always see the fringe elements turn to violence for whatever reason they deem worthy of their hatred and violence.
