If they listened to their constituents we'd have marijuana reform, gay marriage wouldn't be under attack, workers rights wouldn't be getting gutted. Sadly politicians don't listen to their constituents.

And we also know how accurate polls are.

Blank bans for anything are bad and conversations with nuance should be able to be had.

This didn't even get all Republican votes and this would have had negative have had negative consequences for women and girls everywhere. Don't believe the right wing talking points about trans people. Their goal is to legislate them out of existence

How are they doing this? Short of brief bouts regarding keeping biological males out of women's bathrooms, the sports issue has been the only real point of contention. Smells like fear mongering.

I was a bit disappointed with Fetterman. He's appeared like a moderate with his head on his shoulders recently, but he was lockstep with party on the issue.

Executive orders targeting funding for any place that offers gender affirming care. Executive orders targeting trans people and changing the age of being an adult to stop healthcare.

There are states that are taking it even further and trying to legislate care away from adults.

Just because it's about a topic you don't care for doesn't mean it's fear mongering.

You left out the part that those EOs were targeting for 18 and under. I care very much about protecting kids, so I do care in that respect. Saying they're trying to wipe out trans people is clearly an exaggeration and absolutely fear mongering.

It's not fear mongering at all if you listen to what they say. And I can promise you I'm more tuned into this than you.

And anyone 18 is considered an adult, except now for this. You don't care enough about protecting kids because if you did you would care more about gun control, not disbanding the DOE and about million other things before you cared about trans people

It's your opinion it's not fear mongering, but you also said the government is trying to legislate trans people out of existence which, yes, is an exaggeration. You may be more tuned into this issue, but there's an expression: One can't see the forest for the trees. Sometimes when you're a part of a community, any community, you can run into negative feedback loops or the spread of propaganda if some people see their group as under attack. The reality is trans people are more accepted today than they ever have been, and while I understand there are still struggles today in the US it's still probably the most trans-friendly country in the western hemisphere after Malta and Canada. Nobody is trying to legislate trans people out of existence.

Why do you think I don't care about gun control? I've taught my two neurotypical kids about firearm safety, and the eldest one has accompanied me to the range. I keep my firearm locked up at all times, the key hidden. That's beside the point though. I'm a good parent, I've got great kids, I'm not particularly worried about them. They're on the right path. I'm more worried about the abused kids that are being led down the wrong path (from a medical standpoint) or manipulated by misguided parents, friends, etc. Someone needs to protect those kids and be a voice for them.

Gun safety and gun control are two totally different things.

And I promise you they are trying to legislate trans people out of existence and America is no longer safe for trans people. We've seen this administration spend money scrubbing any mention of transgender people they could from websites, historical landmarks. If you care to do research look at what's happening in Iowa, Montana and Texas amongst other states.

I understand safety concerns when it comes to everything related to this topic and I don't believe trans people should have unfettered access to athletic spaces and I don't think doctors should be playing fast and loose when it comes to prescribing treatments either.

Now with that being said this whole anti transgender movement by the right has been co-opted by a group LGB without T and fear mongers like Matt Walsh and Michael Knowles. One of which was at the address last night. Using words like exterminate when it comes trans people and transgender ideology (whatever the fuck that means) definitely is fear mongering on the right.

This is silly. You have the state of Iowa removing civil rights for transgender people. That's actual legislation that is removing their protected class and assisting in trying to make the claim that transgender people don't exist, or shouldn't be something that does exist or is acceptable.

Ahh so kids that are trans or are experiencing issues with gender identity are abused, misguided, and need protection. Rather than you know..just...love, support, and acceptance as they navigate it at all?

Interesting choice of words by you to describe children experiencing gender identity crisis.
