If you shop Kroger sign up for he Kroger plus card for your Kroger gas discount. You're going to spend the money, any way. Might as well get something for it.

I've lived in a large city before (Milwaukee for a year), but they don't have any of these stores and my hometown definitely doesn't have them. I'm sure I've been exposed to some businesses/companies/stores that you guys haven't that would seem bizarre to me too.

Kroger is the 5th largest retail chain...on our planet. Not just the U.S.

Even a modest appreciation of the world outside of what is directly in front of us allows us to know more about the world.

Ummm, thanks?

I just don't have time or interest in researching grocery stores I've never lived around. Now I'm around them and I'm interested. Before? No thanks, lol.

Qdoba and Planet Fitness maybe - but Kroger? They are in the top 25 largest fortune 500 companies in the world. They are second only to WalMart(You have heard of them right?) in retail sales in the US. That one truly surprised me.

IDK where you are going with this or why you guys are jumping down my throat because I've never heard of a grocery store before.

You realize that I've never lived near one, right? And that makes me ignorant? Lol. This is dumber than when I was called a non-ND fan because I didn't know Terry Hanratty.

The only reason I know Kroger is because I worked for Ralph's and Food4Less... both owned by Kroger... I didn't know Kroger had a chain in it's own name. I am guessing most out here, just outside of LA, don't even know what Kroger ir, or at very least that it has it's own chain. I know Planet Fitness and have never heard of Qdoba in my life, though someone compared it to Chipotle so I'm assuming that's a good thing.

Qdoba I had heard of but never eaten at. Never seen or heard of a planet fitness.

There is no throat jumping. I was surprised that you hadn't heard of those places as they are pretty large chains across the Midwest. It was surprising to me.

Now, there are some more local places that if you had mentioned them it wouldn't surprise me at all and I would tell you whether you should darken their doors or not.

Eh, grocery stores are one of those things that if you don't live in the area, there's no reason you would normally hear about them. They don't advertise in markets they don't have locations, I imagine. I had never heard of Harris Teeter until I moved down to Nashville. Same with Piggly Wiggly, or Fry's when I lived out in Arizona.

This doesn't apply to some store called Wegmans, because people from the northeast won't shut up about that place.

I instantly thought of Fry's and Piggly Wiggly as well... two stores I only know because I have been through the respective regions...

It wasn't really directed at you, sorry.

BTW, if you guys have never used/heard of Planet Fitness you're an idiot. But seriously, I would check them out. Like I said, I was skeptical because their membership fee for 24.7 access is $10 per month with a start up fee of $30. Crazy cheap. But here's what it looks like inside:

There's also locker rooms and a separate ab/bag training/medicine ball room.

For a second I thought I landed in the wrong state and was in LSU's weight room.

Yes, but you live in another world.

Yes, Kroger is an OH company and they run many of their stores east of the MS under their corporate name.

Never been to Texas, actually, and never heard of that one!

In case anyone's interested, "Whole Foods" is my choice of uppity grocery store chains. My fiancee is a big fan of "Fresh Market" - which they have in Columbus, by the way. Have some pretty tasty bacon there...

Check out the Anderson's general store when you are ready to explore a little more. Sawmill and 161. Their"House of Meats" is the best place to go for grilling needs.

Sorry if I missed it, but where are you going to be living? And where the Hell is that planet fitness? Looks really nice.

I won't give me whole address, but I live near W. Lakeview Ave intersecting N. High St.

LOL @ Whole Foods...

I've never been to one, but I heard they're great.

It's crazy how a difference in location can alter your view of a company. In Eau Claire (undergrad), Wal Mart is super clean, well ran, has literally everything. In Milwaukee, it was disgusting and didn't go there after the first visit. Poorly ran, low inventory, not fresh, shitty employees.

But EC's wal mart was just like Randy talks about in South Park. Most convenient place to stop by a mile.

Freaking Piombino........

Haha, I'm afraid if I gave my whole address, he'd flip over my vehicle.

Just look for the very above average looking dog, and the very average looking guy and you'll find me.

Yeah, I did know that about Fry's but not Harris Teeter until I noticed my Kroger card worked there as well. In any case, the corporate structure means pretty little to a dude just looking for a gallon of milk.
