Hard to take a new President seriously when his first act of business is to remove the Interim tag of Ausberry with the caveat that he would reevaluate later.

It's so awesome. I'm loving every last second of it.

If they had just fired Kelly and their slapdick governor had kept his mouth shut, maybe it wouldn't be as bad as it is, but it's clearly a shit show now for all to see. Admission is free.

I think Tony Alford has been looked over for way too long for HC.....IMHO......

- I predict Bryan Harsin ends up somewhere as a HC on the West Coast

- Apparently Paul Chryst is looking to get back in somewhere

Sounds like Oklahoma State is closing in on someone. Fuck whoever decided FootballScoop should have a premium subscription

Reading their 247 board, sounds like Morris from North Texas, though they really want Golesh

Heard a report on the radio that the biggest reason Freeze was let go was because he spent way too much time on the golf course. A booster reported that the Friday before a game, he was at a golf course with no clubs. He was there just to watch others play. lol

If he cares more and enjoys golf than coaching D1 football, what a brilliant move. BK might have done the same. Put in a few years in the SEC, get fired, take your buyout money and live a really comfortable life. I am beyond jealous.

Roberts has an article that LSU will make a massive push for Freeman. He snapped on some people who replied that it was all clickbait. He’s acting like he knows something. He’s full of shit

I mean, the thing is, he could be right that LSU is going to make a "massive push" for Freeman, but that doesn't mean anything really. Every team with an opening is going to "make a push" for Freeman.

I think he's right LSU is going to make a big push...... but I also doubt he has good sources on this.

I don't think LSU needs to waste their time on Freeman. He already turned them down once. He is a midwest guy who is highly invested in his present program who has far, far more job security at ND than anyone at LSU. He embodies and sees the advantages of the ND job others see as obstacles: great academics, faith, family environment, and character. Winning a title at LSU is cool but winning one at ND is legendary and hasn't happened in a long time. Freeman is highly driven to break that trend.

Who knows what is truly in a man's mind but yeah Freeman to LSU doesn't make a lot of sense.

This is different than with Kelly. I very much doubt we'll let ourselves be meaningfully outbid, nor would LSU offer the same sort of crazy deal again. Money aside, Freeman still has a lot to accomplish at Notre Dame, whereas Kelly saw LSU as a chance to accomplish something he could not with us. And he's being given more resources to do it than Kelly was.

Unless there's some internal friction that no one is publicly aware of, it's hard to see him leaving for any college job that isn't OSU. Which doesn't mean big-time programs aren't going to call him. Hopefully an extension is in the works. He's earned it.

Interestingly enough, Morris' only loss this season: a blowout to USF.

I think Golesh is probably more coveted than we all realize. He is also going to come a lot cheaper than the Freeman and Kiffin click bait names you're going to hear with every job.

I think he's a perfect fit for Ole Miss if Kiffin goes to LSU/Florida.

Also saw Oklahoma State mentioned and think he'd do very well there, too.

Freeman has turned LSU down before, but that was as DC with Kelly.

Having said that, I don't see MF taking the job anyway. There's a lot of uncertainty down there right now and you can bet they are not going to do a contract anywhere close to what Kelly had. The annual pay will be competitive, but my guess is the length will be much shorter and the buyout will be manageable.

twice.
He turned down LSU to come to ND with Kelly. Believe there was actually a deal in place until ND ponied up to get the money right.

I think LSU will make a serious push for Freeman. That is a lot of money. And anyone can win at LSU. I think he wants to be at Notre Dame. But he needs to get locked up or a statement needs to be made to be done.

Obama and Donald Trump has stained golf as a hobby you gotta think. Anytime somebody mentions it is their hobby i think the public just presumes they are work shy and lazy

The last two guys there crashed out in pretty spectacular fashion. Orgeron went 15-0 to win a title, then went 11-11 the rest of the way.

You have to look at LSU from an administrative point of view now, too. The president is walking in the door from a much smaller school.

We're in the Post Covid, NIL Portal Curt Cignetti Era of college football now. The jobs that were once considered great might not be such anymore. I think it's important that everyone look at this in the present and not necessarily from a historical point of view. Certainly consider history, but add in a dab of recency bias.

Plumbing the depths of human indignity anew with each new coaching carousel. These people have to understand that they are chipping off pieces of their soul when they post like this.

A good rule of thumb, if you ever find yourself having typed the words "I'm hearing," but you haven't yet hit send: unplug your computer and all peripherals, take them out to the nearest interstate overpass borrow pit, and throw them in the water.
