His only other options would be Seattle, Atlanta or Washington for a head coaching job.

I would think he has zero interest in going to Michigan, and if anything the current situation makes it less than zero.

Dan Morgan was named President/GM of the Panthers earlier this week. He'd been assistant GM.

That will make for an interesting dynamic depending on who he hires. He was a first round draft pick that came up through the Seahawks front office before going to Buffalo and then Carolina.

This is what I want too.

I can't see it being anyone other than Sherrone Moore. Whatever players they have left like him and I don't think anyone wants to touch that job with everything that has been happening within the last several months.

Most likely, i still think they'll never hire a non "Michigan Man" (besides Moore) unless they were in true dire straits

I doubt it. The position they are in on so many levels leads me to believe that if he wants it he's going to get it, but that's pure assumption and speculation obviously.

There is obvious risk in hires like these (Freeman, Day, Riley at OU) but I have a hard time seeing anyone else on that list or anyone at an established P4 position wanting to step into that role up there.

The new era being what it is, I think we could potentially see a lot more of this in the future in similar situations. I don't necessarily know if that's the best idea, but with The Portal being what it is, admins are going to have to consider bringing in a whole new staff that would have to start from scratch upon every coaching change.

Moore, or anyone else, is getting this job under less than ideal circumstances. He could be chomping at the bit to get it but I'd think he would also realize the caution that comes with taking this job right now. If it goes sideways he's probably not getting another shot at an HC job ever again.
