Yes, but we are all ND homers. Proud ND homers. Media does impact brains. Wish you could walk through my office an listen to non-football people talk about the SEC, simply regurgitating what they see on ESPN.

Fortunately I work in a split ND/Michigan State office. We all hate UofM and the SEC.

ESPN has a deal with literally every single major conference. They actually have the WORST setup with the SEC

You mean they actually share in the profits of the Longhorn Network, the PAC-12 Network, and BTN?

What really bothers me are the intelligent/high-grey-matter employees I have (engineers, PMPs, etc) who aren't even from the South, spewing SEC dominance crap. They aren't even football people...

I live in Bama so I'm gonna here SEC bias regardless but yes ESPN is just propaganda to the average person whatever they say is the gospel. It's the same with the Heisman whoever ESPN gets behind will win it.

That's my suspicion with the highlight selection. I think they are setting up Golson's heisman campaign with a 'mediocre team dragged to the nc by Golson' story.

Pleasantly surprised. I thought for sure that Miss State would jump us.

I did too, though I knew at least one of them would jump us. I also think Auburn should be 1 and that we should be ahead if Baylor. Other than that I think this is a very fair ranking all around.

That much of a drop for Stanford is stupid. They lost a very close game, on the road, in a fall monsoon, to a higher ranked team, and the voters are punishing them. If only we could all be in the SEC... Then everyone could be an overrated waste of a football team unassociated with outside things like academics and rules.

You might want to rethink this. Stanford's the highest ranked 2-loss team.

Not really. They've proven thus far that the preseason rankings were wrong.

EDIT: sorry for making 2 consecutive posts instead of multi-quoting

To an extent, yes. 16 and 13 slots.... Don't buy out. TCU will play @Baylor next week, so we'll see. No way AZ should have jumped that far. They barely beat UTSA, and had close ones at home with Nevada and Cal. Uh, no.

I get the Miss teams jump, but TCU and AZ shooting into the stratosphere is a bit much IMO too.

Why shouldn't AZ be ranked where they are? They're basically the lowest ranked undefeated team and have a win against the #2 team in the country. They're also Cal's only loss.

Are they the 13th best team in the country? Maybe not. But that's a different question. I think they've earned the ranking.

As I figured u'd be the only fool on here to argue ESPN isn't biased for the SEC when it's clear they are anyone can see that. So to you Golson sucks, field turf is stupid and ESPN is pro ND what else you got son? If you can't see that ESPN's major deal with the SEC hurts football as a whole ur insane.

Can everyone please stop quoting him?
It's ruining the "ignore" option.

And Arizona is still ranked two spots behind Oregon, the team they beat. National sportswriters, and coaching polls need symmetry. Some conferences need two teams rated in the top 25. PAC whatever is one!

Polls mean nothing this early in the season. Nothing at all.

And the good thing about the two Mississippi teams is that they are now purdy much in the drivers seat in the SEC. Newbies like them are much more likely to get knocked off than the Bama's, etc. And they are much less likely to get the "general SEC support that Bama, Auburn, Fla, etc., do. Think about it. Great for us if we can win this year, and great for the overall de-evolution of the SEC!
