Skip Bayless is such a moron. Says Clausen doesnt have what it takes for the NFL.
He (Skip) doesnt have what it takes to be a reporter/commentator. All ESPN commentators are ND haters. They're opinions are irrelevant.
Something tells me JC and GT get drafted to the team that Charlie is going to be taking over for....just a thought.
He always strikes me as the type of person that whatever the main stream belief is, he will say the opposite just to argue.
The only way it's talked about is if Clausen were playing for anyone BUT Notre Dame............ I seriously believe that... if this were Dirty Sanchez graduating early last year it'd be a slobberfest
"Slobberfest" - classic! Can you imagine if it had been Tebow graduating early?!?

Herby is fair & balanced with everyone, except for Michigan.Herbstreit isn't. He seems very fair and balanced when it comes to ND. I like him.
Herbstreit isn't. He seems very fair and balanced when it comes to ND. I like him.
but as for Clausen...this is just sad. He is not ready for the Pros yet. Another Year in NCAA would do wonders for him and his career. If he goes to a team like..the Bucs or some team that really needs a QB NOW and he starts...his career will be ruined. The only way he'll be any good is if he sits the bench behind a good QB and waits to get some experience.

NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!!!
He was thrown into the fire at Notre Dame & thrived tremendously
oh & I heart Herbie![]()
I wonder how many player Charlie has in fact told to go pro or to transfer to a system that will "better utilize their talent".
He was thrown into the fire at Notre Dame and struggled immensely. Do you remember his comical freshman season? He was young and struggled to adjust.
His sophmore season, he improved but tossed way too many picks.
Everything came together this past season, but there is still work to do on him as a QB.
BQ has looked like he's improving, but my point was that up to this point in his career he is looking more bust then breakout.
BAL L 16-0 13/31 99 yards 41.9% 0 TD 2 INT Rating 23.5
@DET L 38-37 21/33 304 yards 63.6% 4 TD 0 INT Rating 133.1
@CIN L 16-7 15/34 100 yards 44.1% 0 TD 0 INT Rating 51.3
SD L 30-23 25/45 271 yards 55.6% 3 TD 0 INT Rating 95.7
I wouldn't exactly call these earthshattering, especially his completion %. Btw, you don't have to sell me on BQ, I have a Cleveland Browns #10 jersey and I hate all things Cleveland.

I have similar feelings, they're going to use the underclassmen label against him and they're going to question his size also.
He needs to be behind a QB for at least 1 full year, and maybe 2 years. Work on his mechanics, footwork, his deep ball, etc. Learn the system, and then be groomed for the job similar to Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, actually thats who Clausen makes me think of as a QB.
Seattle or Minnesota or Indianapolis would be great fits.
He's going to be thrown into the fire in places like Cleveland, Washington, St.Louis, Buffalo, San Fran, and Carolina.
Herbie is the same "fair and balanced" guy who called Notre Dame football irrelevant on CGD live two weeks ago. He is a bright guy, but when it comes to cfb he is an OSU guy through and through. Kirk Fowler even called him out when he made that comment.
As for JC, with the collective bargaining agreement coming, there is no way he is gonna pass up the kind of guaranteed money he is gonna get to play another year of college ball and pull a sam bradford.
Clausen declared for Draft. Per ESPN!

Sadly, I'm going to say Jimmy will be a bust. He should of had better stats the entire year, especially with his wide receivers. He got to play some pretty poor passing defenses this year. Hope I'm wrong. He needs one more year.
