for me to come clean. Mr. Cierre Wood....

I've got to admit, I've been you're biggest critic the past two years, however, you put on your big boy pants today and got after it. That is what playing HB is like at the D-1 level. Awesome effort and things are looking up going forward.

Some thins to think about..... You're still running with the damn ball in the wrong hand on the outside... USF was fantastic at wrestling the ball out. Put the damn ball in your outside hand and secure it......and be sure to tell Theo to do the same. He looked like he was slinging a box of swiss cake rolls around the yard at times.

Positives

1) Cierre is a baller. Well conditioned.

2) Oline looked terrific.

3) Defense did well. Two of the field goals were on short fields.

I'm not panicking, because I know that if Tommy started that game, he would have won with the aid of a running game.

yeah guys, we lost to won of the better teams on our schedule, as long as we can beat the michigans (tht would be huge) i think we'll be ok.

And he has three years left :) :) :)

He will gash the UM defense for 150.

Honestly didn't get to see hardly any of UM's game...

So I'll make ridiculous predictions! (kidding)

Cierre is a beast, and in the USF game he gave a glimpse of his maturity and progression (picking up blitzes, catching passes)

What also surprised me was the first half, seemingly BK put a lot of the workload on Cierre, and he handled it well

Wood got his neck or shoulder stoved near the end of our first drive. He was hurt by that but shook it off and returned to warrior it out. Much respect for not only skill but toughness there. Now we need to hope that whatever that was doesn't linger.

If Kelly is smart wood will get thirty touches against Michigan. He is unstoppable in open field, which there will be plenty of against michigan

HCTI I can't rep ya bro, I have to spread it around... Agree 100%.

As for someone asking about UM, Denard had 98 yards passing, their leading rusher had 89 yards, and their defense scored 2 TDs.
If we don't turn it over 5 times I see no reason why we can't win this game.

The question is can Cierre hold up for 30 touches? I'm not sure how much Kelly is willing to risk his health.

I was thinking the same thing. Whenever he juked and spun through the middle of a hole with his arm loosely carrying the ball flapping around outside his body I was just waiting for one of the USF players to simply breath on the ball and make it pop out. He needs to hold on tighter and closer to his body.

That being said, he was a beast today. He was close to 100 yards at half, no? And if we'd been in a position where we could've run the ball in the 2nd half instead of throw throw throw he would've gotten to 200.

But hold onto the damn ball

^So now we've moved on from criticizing Wood for putting the ball on the ground, to criticizing him for possibly fumbling.

We're making progress.

We will win this game. I watched UM and they didn't look impressive in the least. Hoke is an idiot for taking a freak like Denard and telling him "you can't use your unstoppable skills anymore, instead you will throw."

I was texting one of my Michigan buddies after the game and we both thought the same thing. We would probably be in trouble if Hoke let Denard decide whether to run on each play, but as long as he is forced to throw, our defense will eat Michigan alive. I don't know if you guys saw this, but the turnovers by Notre Dame represented a 34-point swing. Without them, the USF game is way out of reach. Somewhere around 37-6 if my math holds up. We are a good team.

I'm not sweating Michigan. Will they be pumped up for the Under The Lights game? Obviously. But we will too. And Kelly will make sure these guys eat, sleep, and breath discipline until then. We have the better team, the better coach, and Michael Floyd. We will not lose to Michigan.
