Idk wtf to think about this team. I’ll check back in after the ASB.

1. Injuries galore again.
2. Poor fundamentally again/still.
3. Not very well coached or managed (I'd keep Ethan Katz and dump the rest).
4. Still have the talent to win the Central despite 1-3.

I’m not sure what is going on, but ever since Herm hung it up, we’ve been absolutely riddled with injuries.

I think it is a combination of a few different things. Some of it is random and some of it is guys not taking care of themselves. Some of it is both. It's a League wide phenomenon too. They lost 885 games to injury last year in 2021 and it was the sixth lowest in the Majors. Dude....

I understand the owners locked them out, but these guys have access to facilities that have nothing to do with the team. If they are not millionaires, they're making six figures and have the means to stay fit. Lance Lynn could have found a treadmill at the local Planet Fitness and with the new paper he's getting he can afford a Peloton. Instead he looks like Vince Wilfork and has a bad knee.

Some of these injuries have been flukes and then you have guys not taking care of themselves.

The injuries, specifically the same type of injuries over and over are a flaw in the training staff. So many hammies, groins, quads and so on. All lower body type stuff. Its insane.

Right. Those injuries might not be exclusive to guys who are out of shape, but they certainly happen often to guys who are out of shape.

Listen, Brad Pitt taught us in the movie Moneyball that we're not selling jeans and we're not looking for the next Fabio, but at some point if I'm investing money in players and medical staff to keep them healthy I'm going to want the athletes to do their part to the highest degree possible. They gave Lance Lynn a two year extension for $38M and he looks bigger than he did last time we saw him.

It's concerning if not totally irritating.

It could be worse guys,… trust me

White Sox 31-33
Angels 33-36

Difference is LAA is chasing Houston and not Minnesota.

Spent some quality time with Dad yesterday. He's resorted to looking at box scores rather than watching the CWS. Could really use the distraction of a World Cup right now, but don't even have that.

Cueto is looking like a very good pickup. He was dealing on Saturday. First in at Houston in three years.

I've seen people in the fan bubble that want to get rid of LaRussa and hire Ozzie Guillen (again) or possibly worse....AJ Pierzynski. Why not bring someone in that doesn't have a history with the team? A different, winning, perhaps even intelligent perspective?

I am pretty sure you guys had a better record when I posted that but yeah, June has been BRUTAL... we were 11 games over 500 not too long ago... I hate AJ, for so many reasons... lol

Despised him when he was with the Twins. His signing as a free agent was part of the Kenny Williams "if you can't beat 'em, get 'em to join you" Twins Motif.

I want zero part of him being manager of the White Sox right now or any time in the near future. It sounds like a stupid Jerry/Kenny move.

Rick Hahn wanted AJ Hinch. He got saddled with Tony LaRussa. Whatever happens after Tony, it needs to be somebody from outside the organization that is a current model instead of some piece of nostalgia.

It would be a Robin Ventura hire. Just find a former player they like and give him the manager job if he wants it. Ozzie Guillen had actually been coaching in the Majors before getting the job back in 2004.

So when I see names like Pierzynski, Guillen (again), Bruce Bochy being thrown about it discourages me. This fan base has been conditioned to believe these hires are good because we aren't supposed to know any better. If anything, they have Miguel Cairo as bench coach already. Just go that direction. Willie Harris' name is being thrown out there too. Another former 2005 guy.

It's just exhausting that a team that hasn't won much of anything in the last 100 years keeps wanting to hire their own to take them to where we want them to go.

Here are four I'd love to see be interviewed if it was happening today:

Matt Quatraro (Tampa Bay)
Luis Urueta (Arizona)
Joe Espada (Houston)
Carlos Mendoza (Yankees)

At least Ozzie actually won a championship. What makes him such a bad manager?

I never said he was a bad manager.

They fired him 11 years ago, they being Jerry, Kenny and Rick Hahn who are all still here running the team. The following year Ozzie was with the Marlins and they fired him. He hasn't managed since. So the guy they fired 11 years ago hasn't worked in ten years for anyone and that's the best option for some people?

Do you believe in your mind, body and soul that the best the Chicago White Sox can do halfway through 2022 is Tony LaRussa, Ozzie Guillen and AJ Pierzynski?

Not me, man.

I simply asked why people (including fans on here) think Ozzie is such a bad option. I'd be elated if they fired TLR and hired Ozzie. I'm sure you can find prior posts that I wanted Ozzie before they hired Tony.

I'm just confused what makes people not want Ozzie, when he's a proven winner is all.

He's a proven winner that hasn't managed in ten years that the current front office already relieved of his duties once before.

It's actually a step forward when you consider they went all the way back to the 80s to rehire LaRussa, so rehiring Ozzie is actually progress.

I'm getting a headache just typing this.

I figured he was relieved because he just didn't get alone with the front office. Which why would anyone get along with that shit show.

They're all still there.

He's got a big mouth and he's stuck his foot in it plenty of times, which is of his own doing.

He hasn't managed in a decade. It's a hard no for me. If you are truly that good at what you do, someone hires you.

I don't believe it's even a viable option. It's clickbait from a couple of people and typical of Chicago sports fans that can't get enough mediocrity.

What's the story with Jazz Chisholm trade rumors?

He plays second base and leads all second basemen in home runs right now. Seems to have a personality that fits with their current roster. Fans everywhere have seemed to take a liking to the guy.

Then there was this over the weekend:

He didn't accept his ticket to the Ump Show.

At this point I hope they keep losing so Tony and all his minions get axed. LaRussa is a fucking senile idiot. Keep Katz and axe everyone else. Get rid of Hahn, too.

Reinsdorf will not fire anyone mid season. If TLR will be gone it will be because he “retires”. After this season. 100 games left get healthy and hot. Let’s go.

This team is just so hard to root for every day with the lineups that we run out there. Love that the guys keep battling, but Tony really hampers quite a bit.

Nothing changes until Jerry dies. Sad simple fact about Chicago sports. We saw it with the Blackhawks and we're seeing it with the White Sox. Jerry gave his son Michael control of the Bulls and look how quickly it turned around. Michael sent daddy's boys John Paxon and Gar Foreman away for good. Hired competent basketball people who know what they're doing and the Bulls quickly became a playoff team within Year Two of the new regime.

The White Sox from top to bottom need cleansed. Jerry, Kenny, Rick Hahn, Tony LaRussa all need to be cast out into baseball purgatory.

They are not well run, well managed or well coached.

I can't blame Hahn.

This whole thing reeks of meddling from Jerry. Dude had a well established core of young talent handed to him on a silver platter. All he needed to do was let Hahn run the team and sit back and count his millions.

Instead, he goes out and tries to make amends for a mistake he made 35 years ago, and as a result, we're stuck with Ten-Drink Tony. It was apparent the moment Hahn addressed the public after Tony was hired that he had virtually zero say in the matter. Team has talent. Plenty of it. But way too many players are underperforming for it to be a coincidence. That goes back to poor management. I've lost count at the number of games Tony has directly cost us this season with his moronic decision making and abysmal line-ups.

Hahn wanted Hinch. Jerry clipped his nuts and made him hire LaRussa. Even Kenny Williams didn't want it either. At that point, Kenny and especially Hahn needed to determine whether being employed for Jerry is worth it. For Kenny it is because Jerry created a position to promote him to even though Kenny's body of work as GM was weak other than 2005. Hahn should have left. He stayed and they won last year. Now it's become obvious that LaRussa should not be managing in the Majors anymore. Hahn could, theoretically, tell Jerry that one of them has to go. If Jerry won't part with Tony, Hahn should quit. He will have plenty of other opportunities.

I assume Rick Hahn has authority when it comes to the roster. They dumped Keuchel. Leury Garcia should be next. He doesn't belong in the Majors and they're better in the games he doesn't play. They keep putting him out there. Dump him.

Apart from that, Rick Hahn press conferences are just lies and misdirection. The fans are not stupid. There was a time I appreciated Rick Hahn, but at this point he's not part of the solution any longer. He's part of the problem like the rest of the shit show.

Firing LaRussa in 1986 being a mistake is debatable. Forget what happened afterward, because he was harboring steroid monsters in Oakland and St. Louis. His first tenure in Chicago in the 80s wasn't special other than 1983. It seems like everyone looks back in hindsight because of the success his teams had in Oakland and St. Louis, rewriting his history in Chicago and failing to acknowledge the role steroid users played when he was with the A's and Cardinals.

Jerry might think it was a mistake, but you live with it and go on. This has become a complete joke and it isn't working.

Going to be some interesting decisions to make by the trade deadline for this team. They graduated or traded their prospects so their farm system is weak. If they want to make a move they can be outbid by clubs with stronger farm systems.

They're currently 4 games back of Minnesota in the loss column. They're lucky they are in a division like they are otherwise they'd be sellers at this point.

Still bothersome to me that they didn't upgrade right field and second base coming off of last year.

I have not been watching as much lately because they're so irritating. I pour over the box scores.
