Collins slash line: .235 .442 .432 .875

He has 30 walks and 29 strikeouts. Hence that batting average that makes Grandpa cringe but an OBP that makes your Millennial cousin say "tits!".

There was a point, last year, where he was not doing well. Awful, in fact. Things have turned around for him at the plate and behind it. I don't recall any Collins "hate" from my general direction, only pointing out he was being bad. Then pointing out he was being good.

Melky Cabrera signed a minor league deal the Indians a few weeks ago.

Eloy Jimenez, OF, White Sox (Double-A Birmingham): 2-3, 2 2B, BB, 2 R, 3 RBI.

This farm system is the most fun to watch right now.

Lot of rumblings going around that he will be promoted to AAA a lot sooner than the All Star Break. I hope so, he is shredding AA pitching. Guys numbers are off the charts since hes been back, and even last season. He has to be on 2019 opening day roster right?!?! Kopech coming up soon too i hope?!

DFA the whole F'n bullpen besides Santiago as well. Thats at least 3 games in the last week the starter pitched a gem and the bullpen lost it. Yes i know we want to tank, but how many more top end prospects do we need. We have to start getting the kids who are playing ok between the foul lines a taste of winning, and get some butts in the seats for them as well. Bring up Kopech, send whoever to the pen.

bullpen has been brutal. 4-10 in one run games. Once they start learning how to win those, it's going to be fun to watch.

Problem is the team is figuring it out, but when your worthless Nate Jones is serving up meatballs, you can't do anything about it. Needless to say they are spending money on the pen until this upcoming season, but in the meantime, give some arms a chance that haven't had a chance to at least make it respectable.

Lot of Rumors about Sox going after Josh Donaldson and Machado this offseason.

Donaldson at the hot corner, Machado at short, and Timmy in Center. I like.

They gonna take out a loan, because they aren't gonna make any money with the piss poor attendance this year.

With their sweetheart lease deal, they're still going to be profitable this year. No worries.

MLB profit sharing and luxury tax are one of the best, they definitely make a ton of cash regardless of attendance.

That may create a little logjam in the outfield by 2020, though. Eloy, Rutherford, Timmy, Robert, even Adolfo. Avi would presumably be gone or DH.

Basabe as well. Sox are building a farm system, having an excess of minor league talent is needed to build the major league team in trades or to trade off to sustain the minor league system moving forward.. It is a good problem to have. We will never see all of these guys on the same team together i don't think. Sox have always had arms, now they finally have depth at positional players. Need more depth at SS, 3B, 1B, C still. Seby and Collins doing fine, but need to have more.

Sure they were. 2012 Cubs were uber terribad

I didn't remember it that way but you're right. They started off 15-32 and then had an 8-30 stretch from in Aug - Sep. and closed the season 3-13. They sucked well enough to get Bryant for their troubles.

Only lost 96 games the next year and got Schwarber for a door prize.

The Cubs and the Astros both lost over 100 during their Championship rebuilds and the Royals avg'd 94 losses for 4 year before making their run so... Bring on them losses by the Hundies!

Bullpen walks 3 straight hitters on 12 straight balls. That's impressive.

edit: oops, my bad. 4 straight hitters. Last three were on 12 pitches.

If Giolito can get his control issues fixed he could be a pretty good pitcher for you guys. I thought today's game was going to be another blowout based on how he started but he's settled down.

Enjoy it while you can.

Indeed. Most people don't realize this team, while tanking, also has some people on the DL.

The Orioles, Reds, Marlins, Padres and Royals all suck pretty bad, too.

Over the weekend:

Michael Kopech, RHP, White Sox (Triple-A, Charlotte): 3.1 IP, 5 H, 8 R/ER, 4 BB, 6 K, 2 HRA.

Luis Gonzalez, OF, White Sox (Low-A, Kannapolis): 2-6, 2 R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, 2 K.

Luis Gonzalez, OF, White Sox (Low-A, Kannapolis): 3-4, R, 2 2B, HR, 2 RBI.

Don't forget that Alex Call, OF High A WS Dash this weekend was 7/13, 2HRs, 7RBI's, 2BB. Pretty solid. I bet he gets a look at some point or goes up to AA. Only his 2nd year in the system. My buddy who is a scout for the Sox said he was a steal and will be a big league player.

Dylan Cease got shelled on Friday. 9 Hits, 2 IP, 3 Runs.

I think next years rotation could be
Rodon
Lopez
Giolito
Dunning
Kopech

Down the line, Alec Hansen could knock Cease and Giolito into the bullpen. Fulmer belongs there but I think he's just bad no matter what. Maybe they can fix him into a set up man.

If that little Altuve like guy from Oregon State is there at #4, I hope the Sox draft him instead of Brady Singer. If not, go for Swaggerty from South Alabama. Think bat no matter what at number four.

Ya Hansen i see in that rotation for sure in the future as well.. Need his forearm to get better quick. Giolito just needs to reel in that control first year in the bigs, so have to give him the full season to work on it. Sox absolutely barring injury have him in the rotation next year I bet.

Yes, I don't want an arm with our first pick, i want a bat/positional guy, most likely infield. Not a high schooler either.

Jace Fry has faced 20 batters this year and hasn't given up a hit. Eight strikeouts in 6 innings. Might be a nice bullpen find for the White Sox.

Lets hope so.. Also, Santiago shaping up to maybe be our top pitcher sadly. He might be worth a trade piece to a team looking for a long reliever or spot starter heading into playoffs.

He's at a -0.2 WAR right now. He'd have to have a good June and half of July to flip him. You won't get much, but at this point it doesn't matter.

Shields and Lopez have been their best starters thus far. Trading Shields would mean someone taking his money and he has an option year I believe. He's making $21M this year and the option is probably less than that but he would also have a buyout too. Even if you rent him for two months, you're still dealing with all that baggage.

For me, trading away Fernando Tatis Jr. for him was the last dumb thing this front office did. I'm willing to bet Kenny Williams had more to do with that than Rick Hahn did.

You know Lopez isn't going anywhere.

Avisail Garcia should have been traded last year, if not this past winter.
