Fewest walks from the lead off spot so far this season.

9 White Sox
15 Pirates
19 Royals
19 Rockies
20 Orioles
20 Brewers
20 Braves

Embarrassing.

Giolito on the mound tonight vs the Yankees for a chance to get to .500 in mid June.

Must see TV.

We are reaching the light at the end of the long and arduous tunnel gents.

Giolito is throwing like a man possessed this year. The rest of the rotation hasn't been as utterly terrible as I'm used to seeing and the bullpen has been shaky at times, but mostly solid, particularly Bummer and Colome.

And the bats...holy Jesus, them bats. We figure out the pitching behind Giolito, this team is going to absolutely tear through teams in 2020, especially when guys like Robert, Madrigal, Cease and Kopech arrive, maybe add a few key FA's.

Friday night was awesome. Then the next two games were puke.

What has happened to his Lopez kid? Can anyone tell me why this Don Cooper guy has lasted this long through so many managers? Giolito had an offseason regimen that was all his own. Lopez looks totally broken. Where is the pitching coach?

Their starting rotation is a AAAA pile of dung outside of Giolito. Then they let the Indians get Jordan Stephens off of waivers yesterday too. They couldn't have given him a chance and thrown him in there? Could it be any worse than what they've seen so far?

They burned themselves with bringing up Kopech. When fans get bent about service time, Kopech is a great example of why teams do this. Cease's last couple of outings have been tough. Have to assume we will be seeing him up soon.

Why does this Renteria guy like bunting so much?

Zack Collins is coming up. Should be interesting considering his OBP and K rate in the minors this season. 2016 draft pick is up three years later. Looks good.

There is progress here, but this team isn't ready to do anything this season. If they get any offers for Colome and Herrera, they'll have some tough choices to make. I personally don't trust relievers and don't rely on them being consistent. Will those guys be as good or better in a year when you're good and ready?

Exactly.. Why keep running guys that have bounced around team to team - Despaigne, Banuelos (should be long relief). Give these guys in the minors that have been with the team forever a shot let them try to get a solid few starts, if not ship them out. I am over the Covey experiment too. I 100% agree with you on Coop.. Its time to see him go. You can credit Gio for his regiment, but a little credit to McCann too for telling him how he was perceived when he played against him, built up some confidence and game speed. Give the guy a 2 year extension for $8 mil total..

Collins will be interesting to watch hope the guy catches fire.. Anyone over Wellington and Yonder please. Both of those guys should be DFA. Along with the Collins move, we will see Cease soon too. Collins catches Cease. Let them start taking their MLB lumps now.

I'd ditch Herrera if someone comes in and makes an offer. Colome i believe has one more year of arbitration. We need major league ready arms. Gerrit Cole our check book is open for you next year. Oh, and i bet Jon Jay is up very soon too, to spell right field. Please have a hot one month and get traded. Sincerely every Sox fan.

They'll get offers for Colome, and if they can get young hard throwing arms they can control in return they should do the deal if it makes sense. Same with Herrera.

McCann has been helpful and what they do with him after this year will be interesting. He was signed in December. Giolito's off season started immediately. The WORK part of it was all on him, both the pitching and the mental approach. McCann came in and filled whatever cracks there may have been in terms of helpfulness.

What, if anything, has Don Cooper done?

Such a fun team, but in the end, they just aren't that good. Yet.

With a replacement level starting rotation, this would look so much different. They likely have that with a healthy Rodon and Kopech. 2020 looks like it would be their time.

If someone comes along and offers you young controllable players too good to pass up for those relievers, you'd better do it.

Been some rumors regarding Sox looking at Kenta Maeda.
Will be fun to see them make a run at Cole in the offseason. Maybe a run at MadBum, or Wacha?

Nova is absolutely terrible the third time through the line up. Renteria lifts him with 70 pitches and lets Bummer face the heart of the Cub order last night. Bummer, with his nastiness, mows them down.

Worked like a charm.

Then in dramatic fashion, Eloy hits a two run homer in the ninth in his first game at Wrigley. Only he beats the Cubs instead of playing for them.

Great stuff. Loved watching that game.

One thing I was impressed with was the number of Sox fans at Wrigley last night. Watching the WGN telecast, you could audibly bear the “LET’S GO WHITE SOX” chant at times, and there was a legit roar when Eloy socked that broken bat dinger.

Can’t wait to see Gio unleash a gem on the Northsiders tonight!

This team is becoming fun to watch last I heard ratings were up and I think more people are coming to the ball park. Some things I'd like to see Luis Robert brought up and Cease by end of year get them some time and ready for full time roles next year. I think the Sox will go after a big time pitcher to sign this year someone who can be a for sure number 1 or 2 guy. The bullpen isn't horrible they have shown signs of life but I would flip Colome and Herrera for some more prospects.

I thought for sure that broken bat popup was getting caught in left. It just kept going and going. Eloy strong. Gonna be fun watching this kid grow up.

Just the start.

Luis Robert also won MVP of the Southern League All Star Game last night.

This team with a replacement level rotation would be in the thick of it.

This.. Do Sox stay the course for this year and hit the FA market hard on Cole, MadBum next year? Hoping that Kopech, Dunning, Rodon are healthy by MidSeason to make a run?

If they sign no new starters, or make no trades i think you are looking at opening day starting rotation of Gio, Cease, Kopech, Dunning, Lopez, by June/July Rodon spells one of them.

I'd pass on Baumgarner. Cole is the obvious guy to go after in free agency. Maybe a creative trade to get a young guy they can control. Then see who is healthy and ready from the farm.

Their pitching coach doesn't impress me. Lopez looks lost and Giolito did his offseason on his own and is getting help from McCann. Not sure what the guy does and why he has survived so many managers. I know Mr. Reinsdorf is blindly loyal when it comes to his White Sox and Bulls, but come on.

That blind loyalty is finally going to catch up with him and the bulls.. They are losing season ticket holders left and right. I have many friends who have left and won't go back until Gar/Pax is gone.. I am one of those too.

"Going to catch up"? I think we're there. They're in NBA purgatory and have been.

This front office's claim to fame is winning the Lottery to draft Derrick Rose. The ping pong ball machine did the work.

Mr. Hahn needs to DFA Alonso. Good try with the Machado thing, but get this guy out of there. He's utterly worthless.

Alonso and Wellington both. Gio took some lumps last night, but that strike zone didn't help out. That's ok. Part of the growing process. Yoan looks good. Ricky needs to put him back at 2, TA at 6 please.

Again at this point the Alonso experiment needs to end. Palka or Skole can come up and play DH, and spell 1B. With Collins coming up, there are enough guys who can DH. He should never bat again for the White Sox.

Also, please send starting pitching help. Despainge should be DFA as his numbers are now worse than Santana's when they DFA'd him.

Don't sleep on Luis Roberts numbers either. Hope to see him in Sept..

I don't know that anyone is going to forget about Robert. He may wind up being the best player of the lot when all is said and done down the line in a few years. Yes, better overall than Eloy.

Way too many outs on this team still. They're not ready. They need a rotation, CF and RF. I believe all of that help is in their farm and on the way. They have plenty of money to dig into free agency this upcoming winter as well.

Fun team to watch right now.

The White Sox announced Monday that they’ve activated outfielder Jon Jay from the 60-day injured list for his season debut and designated right-hander Odrisamer Despaigne for assignment in order to open a roster spot.

Thank God.. Now if Ricky could learn how to arrange a lineup and manage a staff then we would be headed in the right direction. Jon Jay should never hit anywhere but 7,8,9 spot.
