They also added the ISO pod which instead of Prister rambling for 2 minutes with 3 others was him alone for 20 mins uninterrupted!

Well this is awkward. His punctuation is actually correct in this instance. Could be wrong but looks like we’ve got a grammar war brewing!!
Periods and commas always come within quotation marks, regardless of whether they appeared in the quoted material or not.

Once Freeman put handcuffs on what information gets leaked out to the media after all the Loy shit went down and damaged multiple recruitments I deleted all my ND subscriptions. It became pointless to pay for non information.

All I need is IE.
IE is the enemy of all the subscription services lol, they must all hate that it exists. makes 90% of their content redundant

merck has been the biggest insider this offseason. Its ridiculous we pay for these sites and we have to rely on a poster for information. BTW just posted everything is done it seems and just waiting on signatures... besides ron powlus shitting the bed or him second guessing a decision its done.

Honestly sounds like there’s some disagreement between Blanchard and Freeman over how much control Blanchard gets that’s preventing everything from going through.

Supposedly last time we went after him he wanted full control and now besides Freeman he might get hit. One thing to know about him is that he is a top tier scout, he wants to be the guy who identifies talent.

Don’t know that I hate this. If he, Freeman and company can agree, then it in theory would free up the coaches from some of the recruiting grind.

That is interesting. I assume his predecessor had very little to offer in that area so perhaps that's the reorganization taking place.

It's a live by the sword, die by the sword approach that, imo, is unnecessary (albeit, possibly a necessary one if it means getting Blanchard on board). Freeman's staff have repeatedly proven to be great evaluators and developers, going back to many of their days at Cincy. Blanchard should be an addition, but not addition by subtraction. Just my take.

Full control over his department, not ND football.

Which Bowden taking staffers honestly is probably wanted so you can offer Blanchard the ability to hire.

Coaches are still coaches. That is horizontal, not vertical to the GM.

I quoted the wrong post. I meant to respond to IrishSparten's claims that Blanchard wants to be the guy who identifies the talent. I mean are we to assume that Mickens isn't going to have the final say in who he wants at corner? His track record would suggest that he (Mickens) has priority when it comes to identifying talent.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding or misrepresenting.

I would not anticipate any GM to have the ability to overrule a coaches evaluation of a player.

Now, the room has gotten more crowded. You got a Head of Scouting and GM with the coaches. And I’m sure some disagreements will be had. But no, no GM is getting to overrule a coordinator on offers (yet).

Will they overrule how much money a player gets though? Well that is now the ball in his own court, not the coaches.

Hence the alluded to dilemma according to IrishSparten and Irish5Saint.

I believe he is already doing this at Texas Tech.

From 247:

“We have a personnel department that is over recruiting,” McGuire said. “The coaches that came that weren't maybe at Baylor and and saw Matt Rhule’s design. It's a little bit different, but very, very similar. They were kind of taken aback, because they may tell me they haven’t watched a guy and we’ve already offered him. I say, 'Coach, here's the deal. This personnel department, headed by James Blanchard, all they're going to do 24/7 is watch film. They're going to watch more film than anyone. And it takes that off your plate.' I said, 'But if you want, we're going to watch him. But we're not going to wait to offer these kids to give you give them the thumbs up. It's going to delay the process."

From The Athletic:

"To increase efficiency, McGuire does something Bellaire said he hadn’t experienced at other places he’s worked, like Baylor, Texas A&M or LSU: McGuire gives his personnel staff full autonomy to offer prospects, without needing his prior approval. Blanchard will still poke his head in McGuire’s office or fire off a text to him to keep him abreast before offering, but he has the “green light,” Bellaire said, to offer."

To my understanding he has full control at tech. For recruiting he does a lot of scouting and takes a lot of pride in it. Not saying he will have first say but he is known to be the guy to identify talent before anyone. Someone did say he wants control in hiring for the “office” positions but I believe MF would play a role. I’m just posting what I’ve seen elsewhere

I’ll take an L on that one, wow, though I still would be shocked if that would be his arraignment at ND.

ND does do the blast all type offers on St. Patty’s day so maybe let Blanchard run wild in a few weeks and then when things get more serious, it can take additional review. That type of process on getting verbal offers which amounts to nothing official really to height/weight/speed type guys quickly.
