What a freaking idiot. He's not getting drafted. Way to throw away your degree/chance to develop and be a pick.

Well, he's been at ND for 4 years...

He's opting not to come back for a 5th....

So, he should still be getting a bachelors degree.

In that case, I retract 90% of my statement. For some reason I thought he left the University for a period of time.

Still, no chance he gets drafted and he could've potentially worked his way into a pick next year with great production to reflect his athletic ability.

He took a week off from basketball last season... It was during Christmas Break I believe.

But he definitely needed that extra season to raise his stock...

He is graduating this month, but still. He isn't going to get drafted. Apparently not even on the radar & not in top 100 prospects going. Really odd decision. Hope his Spanish or French is good, bc he may be headed to Europe to play next year.

I could see his decision, I may not agree with it because I am an ND fan. But I think if he goes over seas or to the D-League he'll get better coaching to be in the NBA over staying at ND. Just my opinion. I wish he would stay though. Also, he would be getting paid.

Except for the part about ending up in the NBA, this is the right outlook. He isn't a NBA player, but that doesn't matter. I think if most of us were told we could get a job in our field in Europe for a pretty competitive salary, or we could do another year of school in which we ply our trade for free, I could see many people choosing the former, depending on their position in life. If a kid has done four years and has earned his degree, who can blame him for moving on? I can also see why a kid would want to do a fifth year, but every kid has to do their own assessment and decide what is best for him.

He has the size and the jump shot... I don't really follow it too closely these days but isn't the NBA in more of a threat to lose games next year than the NFL??? Anyway, whatever happens from here on out good luck to him.

Sounds reasonable. According to Tim O'Malley at IrishEyes, "He will graduate this month from the College of Arts and Letters with a degree in history and computer applications". I don't know what his GPA is but as we know from football, 5th year approval from the Faculty Board isn't automatic. I don't know if this is the case but it is a consideration.

Looks like he and other college players are really taking hits from guys overseas...saw that sheldon mack from butler is also staying in the draft

both of these guys are very good players, but I think that they're are getting some pretty poor advice and both could have benefitted from an extra year in college.

Scott can make some coin in Europe. More his style of play anyway. I am disappointed as a fan but hard to hold it against him. I was looking forward to seeing if he could become a go-to player next year and helping this team stay in the Top 25 all year.
