Just found out the tickets I bought online are located in the student section (36). My friends and I aren't rowdy or in your face about things. We just want to watch the game. How will we be received?

You are on the edge of the freshman section. Typically those kids are less drunk than upperclassmen. Either way, you won't be heckled unless you do something to deserve it. Ushers are also very friendly to visiting fans

Yeah Notre Dame fans during the games are there typically to cheer for the Irish, not so much heckle the other team. Our fanbase isn't like OSU or Michigan, those are the type of games you will receive some verbal and possible physical interaction during and or after the game, atleast the games I've been to. I think you will be good to go even if you were to wear a BYU jersey. You may get some unfriendly looks or a 'boo' here and there, but I assume you're expecting that.

Have fun and enjoy that great campus, make sure to get there early enough so you can look around.

Go Irish

Yeah you're not actually in the student section, which begins in section 35. They usually hold some seats in section 36 for students in case there are more kids buying them than usual, but I know this year the student section doesn't even fill section 35. So you should be good! Enjoy the game and the campus, Notre Dame really is a special place!

Section 36 you say? I'll show you to your seats. Just wait near the gate entrance. No need to exchange info... I'll find you.

I am pretty sure you are next to my section. You'll be fine as long as you are not an obnoxious fan. I have seen people decked out in full USC gear and as long as they know where they are they are fine. Plus we don't hate BYU, so you're in the clear.

Can you be rowdy and in your face without standing or really being loud in any fashion? Because that's the Notre Dame Stadium Way.

This is unfortunately the truth more often than not :( It's way too quiet in there sometimes

You should be fine, cougar, most the fans are pretty docile and are welcomming of other teams, especially if you're not a regular rival.

Awesome. I'm excited. I'm from NW Indiana, but I've only been to ND/South Bend once, and I was like 10, so I don't remember anything. Looking forward to October 20.

You should walk around the lakes, check out the grotto and Basilica... even if you're not Catholic they are very nice spiritual places.
