@BrianHamiltonSI: Notre Dame is averaging 10.6 yards per play and losing. That is difficult to do.

There are a lot of coaches that will run their scheme be damned of what personnel they have and just blame the players. I have been part of quite a few defensive staffs and we always built around the abilities of our players. Of course you have you base packages but why blitz LB's that physically can't to put C's in man to man that can't? It makes no sense to me an looks like stubborn play calling.

But should get credit for tillery tackle. Correct?

No, Tillery gets credit. Just like how Redfield and Coney and Shumate should get credit for their blown coverages, and Butler gets credit for blowing a tackle. Players make plays and coaches put them in the position to make them.

Sorry to disagree, we are all Irish fans here but no BVG doesn't.

That fail at the end of the game? That was mostly BVG. Wasted a whole player on the "spy" and played a dumb zone.

Alright, I'm throwing in the towel on this guy. Sorry but our D was crap this year. Too much talent to not play better. Had a couple key injuries but nothing like last year and we still sucked on D. Feels like Diaco's bend but don't break minus the part about breaking.

Everyone watch the last long pass again. Farley funneled the receiver to the inside without getting a hand on him. Joe fvcking Schmidt stood there and got do depth whatsoever. The receiver caught it where he should have been. He was supposed to run with the inside receiver or at least get depth in the middle of the field. He managed to cost us one last time..

For the defensive talent we've had, even outside of the injuries, the defense has been very uninspiring this year. Our offense has been terrific, even with the red zone issues, and has put up points every game.

Just curious, why was the secondary so far back on that pass play? That was just too easy.

But hey, what do I know? I'm just a guy on a couch.

Well, it puts to rest the debate about should we be in over Oklahoma.

Something is seriously wrong if BVG returns next year. His defenses have blown ass since he's been in South Bend and his shitty play-calling cost us this game.

Several blown assignments; not BVG.

Tevon Coney? Devin Butler? Elijah Shumate? Joe Schmidt?

All of them blew their assignment that led directly to scores.

At what point does it fall on the coaches? What does it say to you when our guys blow assignments EVERY FREAKING GAME?

He will be here for another two years I think. No one is coming knocking.

Last year, in a similar situation, he brought a blitz up the middle and won the game.

This time around he showed the same defense on every down and played 10v11. End result is the one thing you couldn't let happen. That's really bad.

The rest of the game his scheme was very good and every TD Stanford scored was 10x more because of players screwing up then any schematic deficiency. I challenge anyone who blames "scheme" for those TDs to show SPECIFICALLY what part of the scheme was bad and what should've been done differently.

I don't think he's been anywhere 4 years ever. He has always jumped ship rather fast IIRC.

His history in the past 20yrs...... He moves a lot....I'm ready for his next move.
