So has this been confirmed? Denbrock is leaving for LSU?

according to Footballscoop:
But multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Kelly’s search for those two crucial positions is sharpening into focus.

Offensively, numerous sources this week told FootballScoop that Kelly is expected to reunite with Mike Denbrock, Kelly’s former Notre Dame offensive coordinator and assistant head coach who spent seven seasons alongside Kelly in South Bend, Indiana.

Denbrock, who also previously worked with Kelly at NCAA Division II power Grand Valley State early in both coaches’ careers, has spent the past five seasons as the offensive play-caller for Luke Fickell’s Cincinnati program.

This Monken thing sounds like sour grapes from some folks. LSU fans wanted BK to reach out to Monken, Lanning, Elko all of them. If UGA is paying you 2 mil and Woodward says hey we’ll beat any offer, of course BK is gonna call and see if hey does 2.5 mill get you to leave, for example. It’d be malpractice if he didn’t make the obvious phone calls. Just like how we want MF to call Hartline. Denbrock has seemingly been the focus for awhile now.

Right, I think you have to make him say no, then move on. Doens't hurt anything to shoot your shot.

Have to imagine after they pulled out all of those stops to hire BK, getting a coordinator like Denbrock has to seem very underwhelming.

I see Desmond Ridder is getting mocked into the first round of the NFL draft right now. I know Denbrock isn't the QB coach but getting that kind of performance out of a QB with his recruit ranking is a pretty nice selling point.

Out of all of BK's friends, Denbrock is definitely the best coach. He's done a solid job at Cincy, and he did a decent job designing our offense in 15. I think he'll get LSU scoring in the top ~30s in CFB. The DC hire has a potential to be a disaster though, if House is the guy.

What’s wrong with House? Seemed like he was okay at UK, and Chiefs LBs don’t suck. Granted Steve Spagnola is responsible for vast majority of Chiefs success on D.

The dude turned down Auburn and Tennessee last year. Can't imagine that it's a terrible hire if two other good programs wanted to make it but were told no.

It's crazy ironic that he went to Cinci because Kelly was pretty much forced to demote/fire him after the disastrous 2016 that had virtually nothing to do with Denbrock. And now he's going to get a retread opportunity at LSU where they very well may fail again because of nothing to do with Denbrock. Denbrock was a great position coach and recruiter, and I think he'll go a long way to getting production out of the LSU offense.

I got him tied with or perhaps slightly ahead of Elston (who has never been a coordinator) in terms of BK’s friends. I still consider Elston one of BK’s boys even though he’s staying.

Kind of weird, but I'm not even ambivalent about Kelly anymore. He's gone and to me it's almost like he never was at ND. Weird.

It’s because you’re a good person, and real recognize real (the flip side being relevant in the case of BK). With his departure for LSU, BK went reverse Jack Nicholson in The Shining. It’s like he never was the caretaker at ND, lol.

You’re right…2016 wasn’t about the offense. In fact it was pretty damn productive. It even got Mike Sanford a HC gig and he hasn’t shown that kind of production since.

My hunch is that Elston is the best of all of BKs assistants from his early days. It’s all circumstantial but look what happened to Diaco when he didn’t have Elston? Guy can’t get hired on the P5 level now.

I think Denbrock would surprise some folks at LSU if he gets the nod. When has he ever had that kind of talent? Now ask when LSU truly needed some sexy offense or guru OC to win/compete for NCs?

Since Saban rebuilt LSU from the ashes of DiNardo, Archer, Arnsparger & Stovall, I stand by my claim that if the last two idiots can win it all at LSU…anyone can.

True. Though it looked like he was calling plays in the NC State game. Still the worst job of playcalling/game planning I've ever seen.

Curious if old Burnt Ends made a call to Joe Brady. Guy had the best college offense I’ve probably ever seen and he’s out of a job.

Word is Brady doesn't want to recruit that much. So speculation is he will take another nfl job (OC or WR), or the right college job.

I don't know how valid that is. Could just be a rumor.

That's fair, just uh.....last time he hired a LB coach from the NFL as his DC didn't go very well....lol.

I'm happy for the changes that he made to bring ND and the stadium up to modern times. We're certainly in a far better place than we were when he came in. For that reason I'm not really sad or angry at him that he left, even if there could be growing pains in the future. I do really hope Freeman just knocks it out of the park for everyone's sake because the guys that hung around and were loyal deserve some more success. That said I think he made a mistake on a personal level as far as his coaching career. Unless he hits a home run with his new staff (Which remains to be seen as he's struggled to convince people to join him) he's gonna have to bank on 5 star players filling in the gaps if he really plans on winning a national championship.
