Will want to click picture and see the guy on the top of the building to the upper left. He is the suspect.

Why? Because a 17 year old kid said so?

TP, I have a lot of respect for you but RTing that is just stupid.

I'll wait on believing anything from the New York Post. Too many people are trying to be first, rather than right.

If you have a more credible source, feel free to share.

They're not the only ones reporting the same info..

I work on the other side of Copley Square from where this happened (I actually worked from home today because I wanted to avoid the "madness" near the finish line, although this obviously wasn't what I was thinking of). Everyone goes to wherever they can to watch the finish line. A guy on a roof isn't automatically suspicious.

God be with these families, God Bless the United States, I'm pissed this is so cowardly. If Muslims well I all I can say is waterboarding isn't quite harsh enough. If Americans had anything to do with it bring back hangings in public. I will keep my 2nd ammendment rights also thank you.

Why couldn't that guy just be a spectator on his roof watching the race?

The NY Post is the only media outlet reporting about the suspect.

If they are right, good for them and great reporting.

If they are wrong and reported on this without CONCLUSIVE evidence, then they need to stfu.

Of course there is always the media 'arms race" in these events...But they never said "arrested". Just a person of interest/suspect. Which was relayed to them by a cop at the hospital.

Again, doesn't mean it's not true. They just may not want it getting out right this minute.

I flipped from FOX to CBS, NBC and ESPN during my lunch break most if not all of those had information about a person of interest...

Suspicious package at rattlesnake bar

For anyone not familiar, the Rattlesnake is about two blocks east of the finish line on Boylston Street (my office is about exactly halfway between the two locations). I would be cautious about these reports of finding devices/suspects, though. Lots of stuff has been flying around, and a lot of it has turned out false. Kind of the nature of the beast in the midst of the chaos.

I would like to take this moment to point out the amazing policemen and women and emergency personnel who rushed to help those who were injured. This footage, while horrific and is a result of some of the worst that people can, also shows how great people can be. Hats off to these brave men and women who are risking their lives and safety to assist the victims. God bless them and to any police or emergency personnel on this board thank you, too.

Everything I have posted is what I'm hearing from the BPD scanner feed.

Sure, but the police have to go by what is reported. If someone says there is a suspicious package/container/etc. at a specific location, then they have to send that out over the scanner to alert personnel. I'm not saying there wasn't anything at the Rattlesnake, I'm just saying in general we should be careful about taking everything that is reported 100% at face value.

Absolutely. Keep in mind that false info can come from not only news sources...but the authorities as well.

So stuff that gets reported may come from credible "sources"....but it just may be wrong.

Understandable but like you said you work very close to the area. We have another member who lives right next to the T. So until the police can arrive and clear why not put a heads up out there so anyone else can be careful
