I hate to put so much emphasis on a game this early in the season but let's get carried away here and go ahead and say this is the biggest game in 10 + years. The dynamics are all there. Notre Dame gets upset week 1. Notre Dame has been trashed all week (I'm assuming) won't watch ESPN or look at any websites relating to sports because I don't want to get all pissed off for no reason. Irishenvy is the only site I have visited. First night game in Michigan history. They come off a convincing win, we come off a dominant performance where we lost. I still am kind of in shock that we lost that game. It still really hasn't sunk in yet. I have been watching football for a long time and I really have never seen another team dominate another team so badly and get beat. It's really probably the most frustrating loss I can remember. Too much hype, let's face it we are a very good talented team and well we should have never lost this game. 9 out of 10 times we win that game, I've never seen so many mental mistakes, fluky mistakes, goofy penalties, no penalty calls in one game in my life. Anything that could go wrong in that game did and it's really sad they had to learn this way. So what happens this week? I can tell you this ND won't turn the ball over 5 times. Notre Dame is currently a 3 point favorite, in many spots. So Notre Dame loses and is now a 3 point favorite, hmm. Anyways I guess my point is if Notre Dame loses this game we take a humongous step backwards. I don't care what anyone says we are on a different level than the Michigan team. We should score at will and should be able to make stops. I anticipate a different, more focused, more relaxed football team this week. I'm not going to give my predictions for the game but I anticipate a dominant performance, this team has something to prove.

No turnovers!

Different level, no doubt, to lose to South Florida with 500 yards of offense, lol.

Yeah, it's easy to be the winningest team in college football when you schedule at least 2 to 3 complete cupcakes every year, isn't it? Well, until you get beat by at home by a FCS school. Then it kinda backfires, huh?

No Big Ten refs to bail you out this time in the Big House. No Nate Montana for a half to spot you a lead. And your Wolverines sure looked awesome when Western Michigan was driving to go up 14-7 on you late in the second quarter.

Keep talking sh*t. Going to be a fun one.

Yes, cuz we all know Army, Navy and Air Force are such powerhouses...and didn't you guys play Western last year?

But we don't play three Westeasterncentral Michigans and use them to tune up/sandwich our hard game. We might play one, and then our "bad" teams are still good. For example, Tulsa was a top 25 team last year... but people act like they were garbage. Hell, even Navy won 9 games.

Our schedule was #4 SOS last year... yours was #17. Respectable, but it'd but also significantly easier than ours (re: your opponents had a combined 16% fewer wins). That also translates into this year where Purdue or Wake Forest is arguably our easiest game... yet you have at least 4 games that are going to be easier than the Boilermakers.

And straight talk, Air Force is better than at least half of the teams in the Big Ten.

Based on everything I've read, no one with a national audience thinks Michigan will win, and everyone thinks Notre Dame is for real, and that the loss was a fluke...

Doesn't mean we will win...but I think EVERYONE saw the explosiveness on O, and saw the D bow up multiple times in real bad situations...

I think the critical thing for us is to have success on both sides of the ball right out of the gate...no turn overs, no stupid mistakes on D. Then it will all take care of itself from there...

Agree completely, especially with the last part...

One of their biggest allies is the home-field, and if we can jump on the scoreboard early, possibly hushing the crowd; I like our chances much more

And the Irish SHOULD have scored at will last week if it wasn't for fumbles, interceptions, dropped passes, ect.! I guess that is why they do go ahead and play the games though!?

I feel the same way man. My brain has recognized that we lost the game, but the reality of it hasnt sunk it at all. The thought that we out played them in every aspect of the game except for turnovers has crushed my ability to accept that we lost this game.

Thats why I havent even come back on the site since the loss. Its been an awfully bitter pill to swallow.... And after a lot of thinking the last few days. Ive come to the conclusion that this was supposed to happen. This is the game that is going to FINALLY wake up this team. Maybe that game was what the players needed to understand that the way they played last saturday is NOT acceptable at NOTRE DAME anymore. A part of me is glad that we took the Loss to USF and the other half is disgusted....

But as we get closer to this saturday, I have this gut feeling that we are going to finally SNAP OUT OF IT! I think that last weeks game was meant to be and we are going to come out and really show how good we are against scUM.

I would not want to me scUM right now. They are about to play a really, truly, pissed off ND squad that is tired of not playing to their potential. A team that is tired of beating themselves up. A team that doesnt want to let their school and fans down anymore.

I think that we are going to come out there on Saturday night and absolutely silence the big house...

GO IRISH!

F scUM!

I don't think anyone will give this team credit, even if we beat Michigan by 30.

"They're not very good", etc.

I don't think we would get any credit until we beat Stanford @ Stanford if they are undefeated with an average margin of victory of 40 points. Just going to have to take this a game at a time.

Old news though. No one gives us credit and no one will until we win a NC, At this point, I could care less who gives us credit. And for the record, scUM is nothing special.
