My investment account still has come back to anything near what it was under Donnie.

with all of the market indicators flashing red lights, this is going to age like milk

Stock Market Crash is trending today. The numbers haven't quit hit that point yet, but tech stocks have already tumbled and so has the bond market.

We just had record GDP growth today. The recession projections keep getting pushed off.

Government bonds are tanking because people think interest rates might stay elevated (largely due to economic growth) and bond prices decline as rates go up.

The ZIRP era was an aberration. People keep freaking out because the macroeconomy is normalizing to more normal conditions (think pre 08).

You want a stock market crash a few years before retirement, to keep your job, and throw the last bit of money in as the market bottoms.

Retiring at the peak makes you feel unrealistically rich and then you realize you're poor a few years later (when you can't get back into the work force).

The market doesn't buy Biden's supposed GDP growth. It was pointed out that stocks rise with strong GDP, we're not seeing that. There's some speculation that the GDP growth is a result of inflation with necessary consumer spending, which is why the market isn't responding appropriately.

Stock valuations depend on real interest rates, and profit growth over time. If you think interest rates will stay higher for longer with economic growth, stocks should go down because they have to compete with risk free positive yield. That's why tech stocks are having trouble in particular.

If you think monopoly power will go down and profit margins will compress, stocks should go down if GDP stays constant.

Also if you think the economy will tank in the short to medium term they should go down.

The stock market isn't the economy. It has some relation to the economy, but sometimes it moves for other reasons.

For the record, the S&P 500 is up 7% on the year and 24% since Biden was inaugurated. I don't see that as a reason to really vote for or against him. In fact since my job is pretty secure and I'm early in my career I'd like it to go down so I can get better value in purchasing equities.

It's very interesting that those in here who screamed nonstop about being so appalled and outraged and totally against corruption and illegal foreign influence are quiet as church mice when their guy is up to his eyeballs in it. It's almost like they're dishonest hypocrites about such things.

That's because if Biden were guilty of everything he was accused of (unlikely) it pales in comparison to the graft we saw under Trump.

You guys spent years screaming about every accusation against Trump, without evidence and long before any conviction. Most of it turned out to be utter rubbish. It was a "throw as much against the wall as possible, 24/7, and see what sticks" approach. Now, you have a guy from YOUR side who is up to his eyeballs via his crackhead bagman son in selling access and influence, and all we get from your side - you know, the side who so upset about even the hint of corruption - is "What? Huh? Who? Huh? I didn't see anything." Shameless hypocrisy. At least have the character to condemn corruption regardless of where it comes from. Nobody respects your hypocrisy. The "it's OK if it's our guy" mentality is what allows this to go on in DC.

so you are okay with government corruption because the other side does it? we should all demand the best from our government officials - on both sides.

All you have to do is swap some names and bingo, where have I heard this before?

“The materials reveal the extraordinary lengths Mr. Bobulinski and other individuals were willing to go to implicate Mr. Biden

Personally I don't buy the evidence as linking Joe to Hunter in a direct way. Hunter was playing on the family's name to make money and then blew the money in the way drug addicts tend to blow money.

What I was saying is that assume 100% of what the right wing is saying about Hunter is true. That would still be dwarfed by the scope and scale of what went down under Trump. That's why most people don't get excited at whatever new Fox headline about Hunter comes out.

That's not remotely close to what you said:

I really liked America better when Presidents didn't have middle aged children.

Like when the Bush sisters got a little drinky or Sasha smoked a cigarette and people clutched their pearls over teenagers/college students behaving in ways only seen in Revenge of the Nerds or Van Wilder....yeah, that was the best.

This Biden thread should be continued in protest. I own the true claim to the official Biden Presidency thread!! Typical right leaning agenda trying to stamp out free speech!!
